No. However, both Christians and Muslims would find your statement equally offensive, thus perhaps giving them something they could agree on.

In many ways, yes. In fact, many of their traditions are the same, especially when you compare Islam to Eastern and Oriental Orthodoxy. This should be no surprise - Islam is essentially the same as the ancient Christian sect known as the Ebionites (not that there is a direct correlation), and both Islam and Orthodoxy were heavily influenced by Byzantine culture. Traditionally, Orthodox Christians did not even recognize Islam as a separate religion, but considered it an heretical form of Christianity akin to the Ebionites and Monophysites.

God has fixed Islam as the only religion for mankind. All prophets sent by God taught their followers Islam. Christians and Muslims all follow Islam. Christians are those, who think they follow the religion preached by Christ. But Christianity is not the name of the religion preached by Christ. Jesus preached Islam. Christians sometimes try to name the religion preached by Muhammed(pbuh) as Muhamedan. But Muhamedan is not the name of the religion. Name of the religion is Islam. Moses also preached Islam. What is religion? Religion is actually a set of rules and regulations to run the society in a civilized way. With the passage of time societis in the world grew bigger and complex and needed new rules. So, later prophets added new rules and laws with the older versions so that societies can become civilized, cultured and peaceful. Finally, God completed the human religion through Muhammed(pbuh).
You can think of the subject mathmatics in different levels. In kindergarten level math is very simple, in high school more and complex problems are given and in university complexity of math is in its highest degree. But in each level, those are maths. Higher maths are the continuity of the lower maths. Unversity students can not deny primary level maths. In the same way primary students can not say that, university math is false.
However, it is sad for humanity that, some greedy and egoistic people mixed impurities in the versions of the religion preached by Moses, Christ, Krishna and others. Christians, Jews, Hindus and some others are erroneously following those impure versions of Islam.
Let us pray to God, O God, let all people of the world understand the religion in its true sense. Let people understand what is right and what is wrong. Let people come out of superstitions and be logical.

No, I don't think that, but then again I've read extensively in both. Anyone who thinks they are even a little similar hasn't gone too far into either.

Would you rather live in a society founded on Christian principles or one founded on Islamic principles? Have you ever stolen anything? Say goodbye to your hand. Every have sex outside of marriage. Say goodbye to your life.

The same? Have you been watching the news? Muslims are much better with dynamite, while Christians are better at feeding the poor and building hospitals.

No. There is a lot more different than just some traditions. While much of the bible is descriptive, of purportedly historical events, the Qur'an is largely prescriptive -- do this, don't do that. Which makes it harder to identify the errors in it, as one must show that a prescribed action is clearly detrimental. But it is possible to do so.

Not at all. Allah and Jehovah are totally different gods. The Muslim religion adapted many of its 'teachings' from early Christian writings, and Mohammed added his own flavor to it. I recently listened to a converted Islamic scholar on the White Horse Inn, who was an expert in Islamic law, and he said that the Quran quotes Allah as saying, "Jesus is not my son' and anyone saying that is should be put to death." Man, that's not the God of Christianity! The god of Islam teaches its followers to use force to convert people. The God of Christianity teaches us to love one another and forgive. Even their beliefs about the afterlife are different. The Islamic faith does not see Allah as a loving, forgiving father figure. He is more aloof, and concerned only with rituals. The God of Christianity is a God of love, who sacrificed His own son to save those who were lost. He didn't send marauders to kill them! So, no, Muslims and Christians are absolutely different.

Please read the book "Old Turtle and the Broken Truth" by Douglas Wood. All of us no matter what religion, belief system or tradition we believe in or don't believe in are LOVED by GOD/SPIRIT and we all essentially the same (we have just forgotten who we truly are)--pure Love.
