No. God does not grant wishes he isn't some magic genie. God gave us all the ability to think and reason for ourselves. He gave us the tools that we need in life to have a serene life. He gave us the tools that we need to accept things that are out of our control and finally he gave us the tools we need to gain wisdom to determine what we can make a difference with and what we can't. He gave us all of these tools because he expects us to use them. He is not going to hand anything over you have to work for it.

I think that God is always doing that, only most of us are neither aware of it nor really accepting that. In fact the lesson is called 'LIFE'. If one keeps looking at all one's experiences - objectively & sensitively, like a student, and keeps learning from them, to improve one self, be critical of one's past errors and learn to avoid them in future, and mostly the important fact that - "What IS is IS", we cannot change the events of the past, but can always work to improve, adapt, reorganize to suit the future (whatever we project), of course, without stepping on other's toes, I am sure, we will truly get Wiser and Better everyday.

But if one rolls on through one's life like a tank or road-roller, oblivious of the things & events around & under, well you trample many small, precious ones and cause only destruction.

Be it done unto you according unto your faith.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does."

James 1:5-8

It is wonderful to see the results of daily asking God for His peace, wisdom, understanding and faith.

If you are willing to allow God to work in and through you--the changes that will occur can be amazing.

Hang on, I'll check with my Magic Eight Ball...

"It is decidedly so."

All poking aside, I really admire the Serenity Prayer.

Sad to say, up until about two months ago, that prayer was the only thing I'd ever read by Reinhold Niebuhr. I'm deep into his writings right now... They're outstanding.

I can't answer for God Almighty and only you can ask Him about this.

A great man by the name of St. France wrote a prayer that I've always thought similar....

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

In God's love,
j

Nope.No Gods or God can do that.Only you can.But convincing yourself that what you did all by yourself was the act of God apparently means that if you believe in God then he gets the credit for what you did all by yourself.
