That is dependent upon cicumstances.
In my book, the most henous, unforgivable, crime of all is that of one human trying to force another to do somthing against their will. Freedom of will is one of most precious commodities that one can have. Getting help when needed is also precious.
It is NOT possible to have freedom without responsibility! ( see note*)
I would contact the proper authorities in any circumstance.
Note* The analogy:
Assume you wanted to be a Hermat (to have complete freedom).
Your going to require food and shelter and clothing and a million other things. If you fail in your RESPONSIBILITY to provide these things for yourself you will soon perish, along with your complete freedom! Thats why most persons elect to live in a society. (You don`t have to be a cave man to realize that it is less difficult surviving in a community when you have a little help, especially when it is organized properly)
So as to the question above. Don`t you think YOU would appreciate some help if YOU were in a situation like this?

I would certainly call the police first. It also depends on how many people are involved. Some of the stuff that happens around London can be pretty serious - knives, gang bashings and so on. I'd use my common sense about getting involved but if I could make a difference and actually protect the person being attacked, I would.

I am weak. If I thought getting involved could actually help in any way, I would.
However, in the past, what I have done was try to prevent the assault from occurring in the first place.
Failing that I have called the police, and stayed near by, and tried my best to distract.

I would at least dial 911 and holler at the person to stop it in the hopes of scaring them away. Depending on the size (and weaponry?) involved, there's also a good chance I would get physically involved, as well.

Yes, and I would do all I could to ensure the victim was all right after assaulting the attacker.

I'm afraid so. I haven't got a lick of sense, sometimes but I can't just stand by and watch somebody hurt another. I've been known to stand between two huge men, ready to war. It put a stop to it only because it was so ridiculous to see this 5'5" 115 pound woman, thinking she could actually survive. hahahah

If you mean get involved physically I am not sure I could. But I sure would call for help and stay until it arrived. (I don't think I would be much help in a fight LOL)

I hope I would. I guess I can't be sure until or if I am in the situation.
