It depends on why you are drinking every night before you go to bed. Do you drink just a small amount of red wine and is that the only time you drink? I would say no. But if you drink all evening and then more just before you go to sleep, I would say yes.

It all depends on how big the drink is? A friend literally drinks a half rack of beer (24 cans or bottles) before he falls asleep (sometimes he falls over first). Because it's refered to as a rack he doesn't consider it 24 individual beers. And yes he's definately and alcoholic.

It depends on how much you have to drink everyday. My Grandfather had a small glass (apx.4 oz.) of red wine everynight before bed, for as long as I can remember. He swore that it helped him sleep, it didn't seem to do him any harm. He lived to be 92. I do think if you need to ask this question, you or the person in question, need to ask a professional.

i think it all depends on.... if you actually depend on the beer... i almost always have a drink when i get home from work and i don't consider myself to be an alcoholic..... i have read articles that say you could have one drink a day or just drink on the weekend and both could be signs of alcoholism.... alot of it depends on your family history too.... if you are worried about it maybe you should just lay off of it for a few days and see how it goes....

Not necessarily, but if you're finding yourself really *needing* that drink before bed then it may be turning into a problem.

Here's a link to some questions you might want to ask yourself about your drinking habits, and I believe it has some information about where to get help if you need it:

It's one thing to enjoy something. It's another thing when it becomes a problem.

You are already almost there.Try sleeping pills for few days and then slowly taper off from them as well.Alcohol doesn't make us really sleep better but puts us in to a kind of stupor and a dreamless sleep.Wish you all the best.

There's a "holic" for everything these days. It depends on what YOU think is too much and noone else.
