It depends on what area you're from. In the US there would be a big difference between an interest meeting in Texas and an interest meeting in California.
Provided you don't show up wearing a cocktail dress, there really isn't such a thing as being over-dressed, but you can definitely be under-dressed. I would recommend no short, tennis shoes, flip-flops, or tank tops. A sun dress with a cardigan is a good option.
That said, you're best off wearing something that suits your own personal style. If you're wearing a style that you're not used to, you'll feel uncomfortable and that will come out when you're speaking to people. Interest meetings are about whether or not you fit the 'look' of the sorority, but it's also about a personality fit. So make sure that you're true personality shines through no matter what you wear!

i don't see why you may desire to not e mail or call the touch individual for the sorority to ask. i'm particular they had be happy to provide help to be attentive to & it is going to coach them your pastime. while uncertain, dressy casual is ultimate. Slacks & an incredible desirable or some thing comparable.

dressy casual. Not too dressy but not jeans. Capris, cute top, skirt, slacks, top.
Be comfortable and you will enjoy yourself more.
