I would advise no. That is one of the main questions on the consent form is if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Most reputable shops won't tattoo a woman who has had a baby for atleast 9 months after or until she is no longer breastfeeding. When all else fails ask your doctor.

Why take the risk? Wait it out, you will only be breastfeeding for 6-12 months. You can handle the wait.

no, it is definitely not encouraged to get tattooed while breast feeding. just like when pregnant anything that goes into your body potentially goes into the babies. i don't mean the ink but the possibility of infection is always there and if on the OFF chance that you did get an infection it would be possible to harm the baby.
it's best to just wait until you're done breast feeding.
good luck!

That might depend on if the artist will do it. Do you have a normal artist or is it your first? If it's your first find a good artist you trust and ask them. I don't see why not though as long as it's not on your boob.

-A tattoo isn't putting the ink in your blood, just the color retaining dermis (I think that's it) layer of skin. Ugh ... You bleed yes but that's because a tattoo is an injury not that it's going into your blood stream.

Wait. I got my best friend a gift certificate to get a tattoo as her shower gift. She asked her doctor if she could get it while breast feeding and the doctor recommended no. No point in rushing it - your skin's not going anywhere!

You will only feed for six months to a year so just be patient and wait. Is it really worth any risk?

Don't you think the baby will get in the artist's way?
