Your mother was an alcoholic until the day she died. You prayed and prayed for her, she was good in others eyes but hateful to you and always treated you with the alcoholic symptoms. To you, your mother died and your hope is that she goes to heaven. Now, through out your life time the alcoholics you came in contact with were abusive, some mentally and a couple sexually. Your child when grown becomes an alcoholic and you have much fear that he/she will end up hurting others. Is this fear justifiable with our Lord? In other words, are there situations when there is fear but your faith is in God, that are ok with our Lord?

this is where you exercise the measure of faith that God has given you. You take these fears and concerns to the Lord in prayer. Pray the Word, speak what God says about the situation. Take control of your thoughts. When a negative thought comes into your mind about these people, surrender it to the Lord and declare what His Word says. He will help you.

Fear, is NOT a sin ... it's an emotion which can and does sometimes connect with other emotions and situations. Fear, is an inherent reaction to potential danger. If people were not at least, apprehensive at times, people would begin to do really stupid and dangerous things, which would ensue into chaos. God likes order and harmony but because humanity is not perfect God gave us a sensor to alert us to potential disharmony. Unfortunately, humanity also has the gift of free will.

Many things are not from God ... He doesn't make the fire water. It is a man-made intoxicant, a web created by human beings, and it will be the souls of those human beings who created alcohol who will be held accountable for the down fall of so many. Those people have no doubt kept God and an army of Angels very busy.

God Bless you and good luck!

Fear isn't a sin, it is an emotion...it is a natural response to uncertainty. Fear can lead to sin if you choose to give in to it and do something you know isn't right...it may also be a sin to dwell on them, but fear itself is quite normal.

Your fears aren't suprising...I would only suggest that if you aren't doing so already, that when these feelings surface, you turn to God for help. Lay the burden of your fear at his feet and ask him what he would have you do. You know, it is even possible that heightened fear about a situation is a sign that the person needs God's help in that moment to avoid a mistake.

not sure if it is justifiable, but i understand it. I think God understands as well. these are the types of trials that test our faith. And faith is belief in, trust in and obedience to God. All that can be done is what was done with the mother, pray. and hopefully keep the communication open. Maybe this is how the child will come to Christ. broken as we all do.

I think fear is a normal human reaction to certain situations. The devil knows our fears and he will magnify them to us. But we as believers have a promise from God. You and thy house shall be saved. This is where you must trust God and his word, and continue to pray and believe. When God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son, I am sure for a moment Abraham had fear and doubt, But he trusted God and his word, and God provided the ram,

To have no fears is a foolish mans claim , fear is healthy , many fear the wrath of god , many fear the fires of hell, Fear is what keeps us on the right path and keeps us from harm , fear for our children keeps them safe .

Being fearful Is mentioned as having a part In the lake of fire. You're telling God that your problem Is too big for Him to take care of. God hasn't given us a spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind. It's ok to have a healthy fear..Meaning: If you play with fire you will get burned,or walking down 8 lanes of traffic. You're gonna get hit. If a man takes coals to his bosom will he not get burned ?

Yes. Of course, that kind of fear is reasonable.

Faith in God is one thing, but faith in yourself, never to succumb to your awful past, never to let it influence your present life, or fear that your child will succumb to the disease alcoholism ...that's another. That's a good, healthy fear, I think. It might keep you on your toes and vigilant about keeping your past in check.

Fear is a natural response to protect yourself from things that threaten your well-being. It is as much of a sin as eating to relive hunger or breathing to avoid suffocating.

i was abused throughout life. but i realized that the only
one to be feared was ADONAI. YESHUA knows we are
fearful. we go to HIM with that fear. we can't save loved
ones, only HE can. plus they have to have a change of
heart also. they must want change and YESHUA. some
don't make it to ADONAI because they harden their hearts.
if they don't accept you know where they are. we can't
bring them back from hell but we can make sure we
don't follow them. your family is ADONAI'S family, where
they won't abuse you.

i hope this helps. i'm finding there is alot more abuse
out there than i realized. abuse Always makes one feel
like your alone. satan hates us, he did this to your
family. read Psalms, this book is priceless when going
through hard times.
