Does it drive you nuts to hear people say that as an argument against evolution?? I can't believe people still say this, but everytime there's a question about evolution on here, there's always at least 1 person who uses this argument. What's it going to take to get these people to understand the theory of evolution so they can stop using ridiculous arguments like this?

Thank you, Megegie. I knew that if i used that as the opening to my question I'd get a lot of people who were ready to set me straight. I'm sneaky like that :)

I agree ! If anyone has ever had a purebreed dog/cat. Naturally you wouldn't allow It to be breed with anything other than It's particular breed. If a stray Impregnates your beloved pet,It will be ruined. As it may have 7 litters and have one just like the stray. So why aren't monkey's still having human's ? Because they can't. God created us In His Image & Likeness.

Instead of mocking people who ask "why are there still monkeys, if we evolved from them" why not answer that question? You said it. Get people to understand the "theory" of evolution. It is a theory. Most people understand the theory, just not everyone believes it. This is despite the unrelenting effort to cram it down the throats of our children in schools and in media. Where are the millions of transitional forms? If every species evolved (and it would have to for evolution to be true) we should be tripping over transitional forms showing all stages of the change. A few bone fragments (that end up being know species) every century is not proof of evolution.

Yes that one does get really old especially since evolution theory doesn't state that we evolved from monkeys but rather we and monkey evolved from a common ancestor..

Another one that is simply redundant is Pascal's Wager.. It often appears in a cheap costume.. At least 2-3 times a day Pascal is brought out dusted off and pranced around showing it's flaws..

Please let Pascal be buried once and for all, for good meassure throw in Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve...

Evolution is such a long and slow process that it far exceeds our abilities to get our minds around it.

It is like Relativity, you can know that it is true, but it just doesn't make any sense in the everyday world that we live in.

It requires that what we see as solid forms of life be seen instead as continually adapting "styles" of survival.

It just goes against common sense.

I am sorry, I just read some of the answers given.....and sadly I felt I waisted my time, we supposed to educate each other from what we know, our experiences, our humanity, etc, etc, etc. But I am disappointed to read the first answers, maybe there's a good one in the next page, but I don't like to read answers very much, anyway, you will believe what your faith allows you to believe, only that. Keep your searching, read, look, ask (smart people), investigate with other religions, believes of other people, at the end you will know what you will feel it's the truth. I know my (personal) answer to your question....I have no family history of hairy relatives.

Yeah, it does.
I will suggest any fundie who is trying to disprove evolution to LEARN what are you dealing with, and what would it mean if it didnt exist, then ask them if they are enjoying their flu shots.
Oh, but then they say "organisms evolve within their kind", well as "kind" is a general term, they use it to move the target as new evidence is finally shoved up into their heads.

I simply find comfort in knowing that I was very creatively, delicately, lovingly, and thoughtfully put together by my creator, God. Verses an explosion. Or a monkey. Besides where did the monkey come from?

THANK YOU... at least I'm not the only one who loses a small amount of faith in humanity every time I hear uneducated people ask that. No wonder they deny evolution they don't even know what it is...

You're arguing with people who hold belief in spite of a complete lack of supporting evidence as a valued character trait....don't expect to get very far. Just keep a drink handy.
