I ship out on October, and I'm going to talk to my recruiter to see if I can possiby ship out for next year.

I really want to join the navy, however, they dont give me the job that they promised, My question is, is it possible to move out and request for the job i want before i go to bootcamp ?

Yes it is very possible to move your shipping date but be careful, The "A" school they gave you could be a problem due to manning dates so keep your options open for you may find another job that fits your needs. Also if you have a job now that you are happy with DO NOT change it the Navy will stay behind there word look no need to fear they will not make you something you did not agree to. Unless you fail your "A" SCHOOL but that is after the fact, Just check with your recruiter and if you do not want to change your ship date then don't.

If you were not to ship out, you could wait 24 hours and process with an Army Recruiter who could put your job in writing before you ship out. That way, you would know before hand what you were getting yourself into. But, you made a comittment to the Navy and should follow thru with it. The decision rests solely on your shoulders. Good luck with the outcome!

Take asniceasicanbe's advice because until you swear in you can still walk away! If you tell your recruitor what you want and they say it is not possible walk away, they will call you a couple days later saying they went through a bunch of trouble but got it approved. If they play hard ball forget about them and tell them your going to a different branch like the USAF and they'll do what ever it takes to keep you!

uhhh. Don't do it. Cough up the job or else. If you go in as an undesignated seaman, you'll be chipping paint and swabbing decks for a couple of years before you get want. Don't go to boot-camp before you have your job.

They will tell you that it cant be changed but it can. And till you go to the MEPS for your final physical and swearing in you can still end it all. Be firm and tell the recruiter you will not go unless you have a guaranteed in WRITING MOS and you will not go till next year. Don't let them BS you because they will. And don't let your patriotism (I applaud that.) lead you to do something that's wrong for you.

You probably will be going to Iraq in October. Once you sign you have 10 days to reconsider. Other than that they are really short of soldiers in Iraq. God Bless.

the rate in you contract is the one you're getting. you might be able to change it, but it's doubtful.
