Oh boy. Here we go again.
First of all, this is a biology question, not a religious/spiritual question. But I'll play along.
I take it you have fallen for the popular misconception that animals are supposed to evolve to some specific, pre-determined "next" animal, up the "chain". Usually this takes the form of of the question "If humans evolved from monkeys, then why do we still have monkeys". That's NOT how evolution works!
It's like asking "If rock n' roll evolved from blues music, then why do we still have blues musicians?" In reality, it was certain musicians who borrowed from blues and developed a sound separate enough that after a while it could be considered its own genre. Similarly, apes and humans share a common ancestor whose population split into several different lineages (some, like Neatherthal, which died out).
Also, evolution does not say that a particular species will evolve into some other specific, pred-determined species. It's not predetermined. It's driven by natural selection, genetic drift, and other factors that are different in different environments.
You really need to read up on this subject. I suggest the links below.
EDIT: No, when people say "Open a book", what they're saying is "This question gets asked all the time, and we can tell by how its worded that you clearly have never studied the subject of evolution, even on the most basic level from science book. If you're sincere in knowing about it, and aren't trying to post this quesiton as a smug hope of a "stumper", then go read up on this vast subject." To say "Well I guess it can't be answered then" is so pretentious, in light of the millions of biology journal articles that have been published, that I just don't know what to say. Read the links below if you want to learn.

Oh dear - it looks like you have no idea of evolution actually says.
Perhaps you should go find out before asking questions. You only make yourself look foolish
Oh sorry you didn't like the "open a book" answer.
Evolution is basically being the best adapted to survive and procreate in a particular environment. There is more to it than that but I doubt you're genuinely interested or you would have asked your question in Biology.
Will you now apologise for asking such a stupid question?

Because they didn't need to. Their environment sustained them quite nicely. But now that the habitat is shrinking drastically, we are seeing invasions of angry, desperate monkeys into human cities in some parts of the world. If that habitat gets too scarce, wild monkeys may die out completely or, just possibly, a few monkeys with the right mutations, might survive in a new, inhospitable environment. However, since most of the scarcity is due to foolishly overproducing humans, the change needed will likely be too great for the time left.

We have still yet to see any evidence of one species becoming another. Variations in the same species doesn't equate to evolution. For all we know at this stage is that those variations are preprogrammed in the DNA as possible variations. Mixing of DNA may make a new type of dog, but it is still a dog. So, even if a complex single cell organism managed to spontaneously form with perfect parts one time or even a thousand times, it wouldn't account for the wonderful variety of life here on Earth.

How can you believe in god for which there is no evidence and not believe in evolution for which there is evidence. But we did not evolve from monkeys, we just share a common ancestor. We can also prove beyond any doubt that the Earth is 13.8 billion years old and that upright walking animals lived approx 4 million years ago. Look at the truth and believe in it.

If creationism is true, and Adam was made from dirt, why is there still dirt?
I hope my analogy makes it clear that this sort of thinking is flawed. If you are really wondering about evolution, I suggest you do read up on the basic elements. Please pay particular attention to the part that states that humans did not evolve from monkeys, and that we share a common ancestor.

They DID evolve. They are a different species from humans.
Humans and monkeys are both primates, but there are dozens of different types of primates, and they all have different evolutionary paths, even though they share some basic features.
That's like asking "why doesn't my sibling look just like me?" Yes, you and your sibling come from the same background, but you're different people with different active genes.

Evolution is a total joke! Not one species has EVER been proven to evolve into another. It just hasn't happened. I guess the scientists will have to come up with some different B.S. to keep the government grants coming.

They DID evolve! Where do you think they came from? There weren't any monkeys a million years ago. And they are still evolving, as are all living things.

They did. Ancient monkeys evolved into modern monkeys. The line that became apes (including humans) was already distinct before the first true monkey appeared.
