No it is not a religion of peace. I was listening to a man who is an x-terrorist muslim who got saved and now is a christian, (Wilad Shoibat) and he explained that in Islam, their god Allah, has many names like our God whose son is Yeshua. Three of the names they call their god is The Great Deceiver, The God of War, and the God of Death. This shows the character of the god they worship. And you can see the fruits of this god in the people that worship him. The one and only true God whose Son is Yeshua, is a God of Love, Peace, and God of Life. The complete opposite. Who is the one who has been opposing God since he was kicked out of Heaven? The father of Lies, Satan. The Great Deceiver. The one who represents death, and the one who wages war.

There is no getting around it. Islam is NOT a peaceful religion. It is ignorant to think otherwise. This is not to say that Arabs who call themselves muslims are all terrorists...They are not following their religion the way the Quran expects them to. They have adapted it to fit into a peaceful society. That's why the jihadists want to kill them too....what about the hatred of the State of Israel and the Jewish people? That to me is enough proof that Islam is not a religion of peace.

Why don't peaceful Muslims take a stand against extremism? Is it because they are afraid or they just don't care OR secretly support jihad? In the end, the extremists want to kill them too.

On another note, seeing all the references to violent Christians, that is such an old and tired defense tactic. I do not consider Catholicism and Protestantism to be the same, even though they are constantly lump stereotyped into the single Christian religion. I am Protestant and I get sick and tired of being compared to Catholics. No offense to Catholics, but they are the ones who did all the pillaging during the Crusades, NOT the Protestants. Same for the IRA, comprised mostly of Irish Catholics.

It is impossible to save someone's soul by forcing them to convert. It has to come from the heart. Just saying, 'yes, I will convert to (place religion here) doesn't mean a thing...it's only the difference between life and death...or in Islam, convert and they still kill you...it's a no win situation. I will not bow to any god except my own God. I pray I am never faced with that choice...I will pray that God helps me stand firm if I'm ever placed in that situation.

No, Islam is not a religion of peace. Neither is any other religion. Religions are all about money and power, taking over whatever they can, whenever they can. That's all they've ever been about - not peace, not saving people's souls, nothing but power and money.

That's what the Church did for 2000 years, and brainwashed its followers into believing they were doing God's will, going out and murdering and slaughtering people worldwide for almost 2000 years, forcibly converting people, burning them at the stake, burning Jews alive in their synagogues during countless thousands of Pogroms every Easter and Christmas in Europe for thousands of years, moving all over the earth and either raping indigenous peoples of their culture and heritage or killing them, ruining the environment because soon Jesus will be here and it doesn't matter, etc. etc. etc.

Now Islam has come to take over from where Christianity left off. It's just more of the same. We are now living in the same scene all over again, that people lived in back when Christianity became a big enough power to do those things - now it is Islam's turn, and we get to see it all firsthand! Aren't we just the lucky ones.

And oh yes, don't forget - we get to hear the same thing now with the Muslims that the Christians have used "They weren't REAL Christians who did those things!" Yes, they were. And now we hear the same thing from Muslims, "They weren't REAL Muslims who did and are doing those things now!" Yes, they are.

If anyone is a moderate Muslim, they had better stand up, band together, and put a stop to Islamists, because "extremist" Islam has now become the mainstream - moderate Islam is now the fringe. Why? Because moderate Muslims sat and let it happen - with the exception of a few brave people like Sheikh Palazzi in Italy, and a few others who have spoken out for the last 7 years and warned that this would happen unless moderate Muslims put a stop to it. They didn't. And now it is here.

If Islam is truely a religion of peace, how come they never co-exist with other groups? In Africa, including Somalia, they wage war & kill Christians. That's why those poor kids are dying or being enslaved. They won't deny Christ. The "peaceful" Muslims won't see them as kids... but as objects to be gang raped, tortured, enslaved, abused, mistreated, mutililated. Even Time magazine about wrote this in 2004/5. Do I think that every Muslim is wanting to do this? Of course not, but do you hear the Islamists speaking out about this. Those who do face death threats and the like. Christians have their own people we'd like not to be associated with namely the KKK & Nazism. Christians vehemently deny linkages between the faith these groups. Hmm, where are the Muslims speaking out??

(Don't forget how the women are treated in Muslim areas, too. Then think through the whole Muslim on Muslim violence in different regions. It's not only us they are fighting.)

Well the beheadings comes from when Muhammad told his men to strike at the necks of the infidels. Even Muhammad was for cutting the heads off his enemies. He also allowed the rape of women who were captured during a battle. These women where seen as slaves and if they were married once they were captured he clamed that their marriage was void. So it was not committing a sin to have intercourse with one. He also used deceitful was to win many of his battles. He expelled the Jews and Christians from the areas of Medina and Mecca. He for a while had his followers pray facing Israel. Then when he did not get along with the Jewish people he then said that, that was only a trial and said the real way was to face Mecca. He had to make a treaty with the people of Mecca at one time so he could go into the city. He was criticized by many of his fellow Muslims of the day. Part of the treaty said that if any man comes to Muhammad he would be sent back and if any man that was Muslim came to the Jewish leaders they would send them back. Muhammad broke the treaty not long after when a woman came to him, he allowed her to stay saying that the treaty just applied to men not women. That is incorrect, at that time and even in today’s times when one uses men or man in a formal document they mean human, man or woman is irrelevant. He also clamed that if one was having intercourse with a captive girl he should not worry about "pulling out" that he should go on and finish if he wished saying that it was up to Allah if a woman became pregnant. So ejaculating in them did not matter. This served two purposes, 1 his men were happy their fun would not be interrupted and 2, it was a way in which you could bread out other religious groups. At lest one of the men who originally wrote down Muhammad's "revelations" left him and went back to his other faith. He clamed that the Jews were descendant of monkeys and said may mean and hatful things about them. So while I do believe that many Muslims are good people, there are many who are bad and evil people. That feel that if you are not Muslim or will not become Muslim you should be killed. He also used torture as a way to extract information and confessions from people. So I think he was a hatful and deceptive man, much like Hitler or Joseph Stalin. He was far from a holy man.

Of course all Muslims aren't terrorists -- but ALL terrorists are Muslim. So what are we to think? The Muslim community refuses to denounce the maniacs that send their children into crowded buildings with explosives strapped to their bodies so how can we not believe that there is a small part of them that cheers every time someone dies in the name of their religion? What other religion fears their so called 'leaders' so much that they won't rise up in disgust against such actions?

Ever notice that when islam is questioned people bring up totally irrelevant issues like the very few abortion clinic bombings that haven't happened in many, many years? Christians denounced those attacks when they happened and still do. Muslims refuse to denounce islam and the violence it professes. Bin Laden is in the news again. He is following the example set by the "prophet" Muhammad. It's that simple. He's giving ultimatums as Muhammad did. He has attacked and caused terror as Muhammad did. It's a part of islam that nobody can honestly deny.

God Bless.

No more or less than christianity is a religion of peace.

When I hear about all the abortion clinic bombings and gay bashings in the name of the christian god , I find it hard to believe it's about peace and their followers claim it's not christians but radical domestic terrorists. Aren't all terrorists christian?? I'm just having a hard time believing the whole peace thing.....

If you knew Muslims personally you wouldn't be asking this question. They are very normal, nice people much unlike the terrorists we see on the news. I don't know about America, but here we don't call such terrorists Muslims, we call them extremists. In the same way that pastors who steal or perform pedophilic acts are not true Christians, the terrorists are not true Muslims.
