There are a lot of smart people who think that the war was not justified. It was clearly a quest for oil and stand up comedians even made that as a punchline of their jokes (of truth) in their comedies.
That having been said, I do not know if the country without sadam has become better or worse. I don't know if the west leaving will improve the situation. It is terriblr and unislamic what the muslims are doing to each other and non muslims in that area.

Among Americans I suppose we can forgive them their failures, but in reality, that's REALLY not something we can do.
I submit that the Neocons should and ultimately will have to answer to the dead Iraqis and their survivors in the final analysis, their feeling it was somehow appropriate to use Iraq as the arena of civilian bloodsport they have so very much desired.
You want to know the perhaps most perverted and damned near Orwellian thing, I've read from/about many of the notables in modern Neoconservativism notably (William Kristol, Paul Wolfowitz , Douglas Murray and others).
That one of primary arguments for being/becoming a neoconservative was it's historically strong stance in promoting human rights and civil liberties, which it was stated in Murray's "Neoconservatism - Why we Need It", he states that human rights and civil liberties are one of the founding principles of Neoconservativism.
These are the same folks that believe that the debt/deficit is no big deal , that Indian and Chinese IP arbitrage is somehow good for American interests, that Oil will never ever run out or that global warming is just a big socialist hoax and that everything is sunny all day long.
They will STILL be convinced they are right , when they have "drive through" radiation zones where our major metropolitan areas used to be while on their way to their summer beach houses in West Virginia, while the rest of us import most of our food from Canada and are filling up with gas only costs 10$/gallon or 2.5$ Euro-yuans per gallon.
The unfathomable question for me is WHY do we not hold these ideologues accountable when their great ideas go so disastrously wrong?
Libertarian ideals and unilateral pro-Likud foreign policy would be positively wonderful if there weren't for natural disasters, recessions, unemployment, children, a nagging need for regular medical care , roads or the need for us to NOT have a few hundred million fundamentalists with the urge to kill us all.

I am not a Republican. But, I am a conservative. Not a neo-con as you state it. I was probably a conservative before the two folks who decided to conceive you had not even formulated such a plan. I'm also a 25 year veteran of the Navy who served 8 of those years with Fleet Marine Forces.
My Stanford-Benet IQ, measured shortly before beginning high school, was 147. So, I don't appear to meet your defintion of "retard" either.
I've also read and digested all of the UN Security Council Resolutions regarding Iraq, from 1900 until 2003. Read and digested the contents of Public Law # 107-243 which authorized the use of military force against Iraq and Public Law # 105-338, which was passed in 1998, and was entitled the Iraq Liberation Act. I've also learned that the overwhelming amount of Iraqi oil production is under contract to a French firm. So, I've done my homework, in contrast to the adherents of the "it's all about oil" and "lies about WMDs" mantra.
In the 25 years since my Navy retirement I've also sought elective office on two occasions. I didn't get elected, but I did step up to try.
Given all that, you might try and accomplish even one-third of what many of my fellow veterans have done in their lives and learn even one-tenth of the knowledge they have acquired concerning the evil that exists on this planet and how it can come to harm all of us. But, that would require you do your homework and get beyond using simplistic terms to defame those who might disagree with you.

No cupcake, we are not re-tarted. A bunch of the people here are actually combat veterans against the terrorists that want to make you wear a burka and be stoned to death for such heresy and he rest are the families and friends of those serving. Maybe mass graves, rape rooms, death squads and the fact that Osama bin laden has said Iraq IS THE FRONT line in the war against terrorism doesn't matter to you but one has to ask, what does matter to you?

For one this is the military forum. Most people who have served in the military or are now serving are Republicans. I am a U.S. Army Veteran. What have you ever done for the U.S.? When are you signing up to serve. Opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.
