I don't think that that in itself can lead to depression, but it's a symptom. and alot of depress people feel self hatred. There usually is something that causes the self-loathing. Find out what that is, people don't self-loath out of no where most of the time.

Although depression can also be caused by a chemical inbalance, self-loathing can lead to it. Especially if the cause of self-loathing doesn't get treated. I wish i could speak to you personally, Bob, would like to help you. If you want to talk to someone about this, please feel free to email me.
And remember, you are human, prone to make mistakes. If you have done something that led to loathing yourself, you have the right to be forgiven. Don't allow the guilt to make your life miserable. Hope to hear from you.

Essentially, you can consider self-loathing to BE depression, as they are nearly synonymous.
If you could hate yourself, you couldn't possibly be happy, as you ARE yourself and thus will be depressed by that.

Yeah for real....When we look into the mirror and don't like what we see either because somebody told us or we compare ourselves to other people the natural result of that is to become down...who said you were bad or whatever they told you....why do you feel like you do....who are you measuring yourself against.....when you do these things you'll always self-loathe which will always lead to depression.......
DUDE.....AIN'T NOBODY LIKE YOU...DISCOVER WHAT'S SPECIAL ABOUT YOU....AND RIDE.....
