First thing first, my sister got her laptop computer taken away today as a consequence for lying to my parents (she's 15... I'm 13).
Today, while I was at a rehearsal, I accidentally forgot to log off of my computer. I have a Mac, so every time Safari (which like Internet Explorer) opens, it records your history.
When I got back from rehearsal, I saw that she'd gone on a few website on my computer while I was gone (I saw this on my history in Safari).
I normally log off ALL the time, and a password is needed to get back in that only I know.
Considering that I'll try my best to prevent this from happening again, should I confront my sister about it? - OR should I confront my parents about it?
Should I confront both my parents and my sister? - OR Should I just keep quiet?
Which, do you think, would be the right think to do? =\
Thank you so much for your help!

Is your sister going to websites she isn't supposed to? If so, then you do have a problem that your parents need to know about. Also, does your sister have a computer of her own she can use or what? If not, then it is a natural thing at that age to want to use the computer & you have left it for easy access for her. If you tell your parents, just remember you are partly to blame in this as well for leaving the computer where your sister can get on it and you could face some kind of talking to by your parents as well.

If you truly think she has done something really wrong and you are not just point scoring against her... sisters can be jealous little cats to each other... say something to her and your parents. But if you think there was no real harm done, just say to your sister only, I know you used my computer while I was away. I would be grateful if you would please not use my stuff without checking with me first. Try to build a bond with your sister. You may really come to love and need each other as you grow older. Don't be telling on her if it is just some small lapse. You know yourself you have done stuff too that is not always in accord with your parents wishes. That is just real life. Try to be a loving sister to her. Maybe I am wrong, but I feel being kind is always a better way to strengthen relationships rather than being a judge. Hope you remember in future to sign out properly.
Cheers

Talk to her, and tell her you know she used your computer. There's no reason to have your sister as your enemy by telling your parents, give her a break and she won't forget your gesture...you will need her later in life.....
Ask her not to do it again, because then, you will have to talk to your parents and she can't deny it, because you have the proof that she did, and she'll be grounded again for lying..again. So, just don't do it ever, and you make sure to log off from now on........

think about how u would feel in her situation. i would confront her about it and say "ik u were on my computer" if u want to use it could u just ask me b4? dont tell ur parents. i have an older sister to and know what its like, when u get older u start to understand more. im sure uve had consequences for lying to ur parents to? just be nice to her and dont use it as blackmail, its not a horrible thing she did, she could have done alot of worse things.

I don't think anyone else can answer this for you. Are you upset that she used it? If you are not upset then I would worry about it. If you are upset but you trust your sister won't do it again then confront her and not your parents. Just tell her how you feel and that if she does it again you will tell your parents. If she is constantly lying and breaking rules then maybe you should speak to you parents have them deal with it. It could get messy if you tell your parents and your sister may be angry with you.
My overall conclusion would be to confront your sister. Warn her not to do it again and don't tell your parents but it's up to you.

Well the right thing to do is to tell on her. On the other hand she ie your sister and really siblings should cover for each other. Do this, think back to how many times you've been in a similar situation but roles reversed. If she covered for you then pay her back, if she did not cover and told, tell her payback is a bit** after you've told your parents.

try to ask your sister if she wants to add another user on your pc which will be fair to the both of you..because there will be a privacy. Do you know how to make it?...here.
1. go to control panel mostly at the start botton, choose user accounts and click the new account. there, you can costumize the name, password, pictures etc.
2. to use this, go to start button and click log of and choose swicth user. and menu will come out which will you going to use.
hope it will works if not...i have more options in my mind
after you work on the internet, right click the internet explorer and chosse the properties. you can see the clear history and just click it..then yes. (win me). somehow...the first delete that you can see under browsing histoty, just click delete and delete all. (xp)
*****but the disadvantage are you are going to type again the sites, all written searches and favorites. if its ok, ...gudluck

Valuable lesson learned - be smart. Log off your machine.
If need be tell the Mac to shut down or lock the screen after a certain amount of idle time.
No point telling anyone about it.

Be cool. She already has parents, don't try to be her parent too. Youre her sister, you're supposed to be on each others side. Be kind to your siblings, they are the best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future. Its cooler to be the one to trust instead of the one she has to worry will stab her in the back. You will get no pleasure in life making others unhappy.
