I am a christian...A methodist to be exact. But I have a little question. No BS answers, I need someone to really think about it.
God created an angel...blah blah blah, the angel became evil, and was cast out of heaven and thus he became known as "Satan" or aka, the Devil.
....But it also says that God knows everything!!!! So wouldn't he have known that the devil was going to be evil? Why would he put the Tree of knowledge and life in the garden of eden if he KNEW eve and adam were going to eat from it?
If God does know all, then why did certain things happen?

Was God sitting at home watching Football and he decided one day to screw with everyone a little for entertainment??

I dont doubt God, But not a whole lot makes sense to be.

Who can help me out?

This is like "The Wizard Of Oz" and you want to look behind the curtin and see who's really running things. I think that's great. At least you're not following blindly.

Yes he would have known, just like he knew that Christ had to die. There is a purpose for everything, Satan leads away the evil, It's kind of like separation of the wheat and the tares, as it is talked about by Jesus.

God put Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, at first, they were perfect but if they stayed that way then they would not gain knowledge, they wouldn't know what is good because they couldn't know what was evil, they would have been like babes. There was a need for Adams sin. As well when they left they began to multiply and replenish the Earth, so that way we can come here, and exist

In the Book of Mormon there is a verse, it says, Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy.

So, because Adam sinned we can know joy. It's all part of a great Plan. Now we can choose Good or Evil. That way God knows who are the faithful ones who will follow him.

The straightforward reality? guy knows he got here from his mum and dad. guy knows he had a beginning yet don't think the Bible answer mutually as others do have faith in God that created him and the universe. If yet another being around greater effective than the God of the Bible the place is the info that he's greater effective than God? can not he wreck what the present God did? Or what if there is not any different being greater advantageous than the God of the Bible that the Bible claims? And that the Bible speaks the reality. God continuously replaced into and there is not any different like him in any respect. Be properly additionally.

This boils down to the doctrine of Free will. If you are believer in extreme predestination, then maybe you dont agree. Thing is, what separates man from other animals is that he was given the capacity to choose between Good and Evil just as the angels were. The Foreknowledge of God says that God knows everything that will happen and everything you will do. But knowing is not the same thing as CAUSING it all to happen. Men are still given free will, even though God knows what they will do, and as such we are given every chance to repent. If not we would be little Robots or chess men and would not be responsible for our sins. That is why Christ is "the Lamb Slain before the foundation of the world" in that God knowing this provided a savior for us even before the foundation of the world.

God provided the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life SO that Adam would have a choice. But then he was responsible for his own choices and received the judgment of mortalitiy, separation from God, and death. Therefore God in His wisdom provided a way to Salvation, and it is God's way and one way, because God is not a God of chaos and confusion. Therefore we make our own choices and either repent and receive Grace through the blood of Christ or not repent and receive the consequences.

Man created god. But man realized that no one will believe him and so he said that god revealed everything ages ago. Why does he not reveal again so that non-believers and atheists can accept that there is god!
Man also created the devil so that the innocents, and children can be controlled and prevent them from becoming crazy and run amok and ruin the orderly society.
It is good not to doubt but better to discover the actual truth without the influence of other mortals.
Alas it is a dangerous test to a very few to and the prerogative of extremely few to know the truth and live by it.
It is best to join the goats, sorry - the sheep, and not upset the social order.
After all this life is very short compared to the life of our earth and the solar system.
So best to let sleeping dogs lie and not be mascaraed by them.

The reason it doesn't make sense to you is because it doesn't make sense period. Why don't you go on your intuition about who God is and isn't and you will come up with a more satisfactory outcome to your questions.

Seriously how can they say God is love and then turn around and make him fearful and claim he does all these evil acts? You have to realise it is fear that keeps people going to church. If God was taught as being love in the purest sense of the world and there was no such thing as sin and the devil and hell, how many people would feel the need to attend church?

No where does it say in the bible that satan was an angel. If he were he would be chained up in hell waiting on the Judgement on the last day like all the other angels who sinned or left their place of habitation. 2Pet2:4 & Jude1:6
Is 45:7 says God creates evil. God told adam that in the day that you eat of the fruit of the tree you shall surely die. He didn't say if but some translations say when you eat or in the day you eat. Adam had to eat because God said he would. Read the verses very carefully and let the Holy Spirit show you things like this. He will answer all of your Questions if you will read His book.

Lucifer was a great Angel in the presence of God. At the Grand Council of Heaven he was one of the Sons of God that offered a plan, which was not chosen. Unfortunately at that point, the nature of Lucifer unfolded and he was cast out of the presence of God.

Heavenly Father doesn't intervene in the agency of mankind. His work and glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. It was necessary for mankind to have opposition in order to choose good from evil. Lucifer was not the only one that fell from the presence of God. He merely joined the ranks of them that were before him.

And Lucifer's part in the great plan of God is happening just as God has designed and foreseen it to be. In the Garden, Adam and Eve were perfect, and although they were given the commandment to multiply and replenish the earth after their own kind, their eyes had not as yet been opened. Hence they knew not that they were naked.

It wasn't until Lucifer came to them, tempting them to partake of the fruit, and telling them that they were naked, that they hid themselves from God. Without the efforts of Lucifer to oppose what he thought was the designs of God, in keeping Adam and Eve from partaking of the fruit, Adam and Eve would still be in the garden, totally oblivious that they are naked, totally unable to have children.

If it wasn't for the deception that Lucifer offered Eve at the tree, there would to this day be no need for a Savior of the world, because man would not have fallen!

Many times, our perception of God is limited, and it unfortunately is our nature to assume that the world revolves around our perceptions. So we ask questions that address the irony in those perceptions. And sometimes we never get the answers we need. But I hope you consider this a pretty good answer to your questions.

Of course if you have any other quesitons about religion, scriptures, or your perceptions, just ask me...

God wanted us to choose Him. Would you want to be around dolls or your mutual friends for eternity? He knew it wouldn't be easy. That's why Jesus died so that the Comforter could be sent. The Comforter, or Holy Spirit, dwells inside of Christians to make the journey easier but it doesn't promise perfection. He also knew that we would mess up and need forgiveness. Prior to Christ's sacrifice, the Jews sacrificed perfect, unblemished animals. Then Christ was the perfect sacrifice...it's not getting any better than Him. Hence the temple's curtain separating us from God broke in half at Christ's death. We have direct access to God through Christ's death.

One thing that I would caution you who you seek wisdom from. It's natural to think about these things; if you use the Bible to dig, it will grow your faith in Him immensely. The Bible states that our wisdom does not begin to equal the Lord's. Some things will not be fully evident here on earth at anytime. Apologetics (defending the Christian faith through fact & philosophy) may be something you want to pursue. I know there are some really great people ministering in this field. Frank Turek is one that comes to mind and his delivery is insightful and fun at the same time.

Many Blessings,
Elizabeth

There is some light awaiting...

Maybe you've heard that "God" is within each one of us... correct?

WELL... this is the same God which Jesus spoke of... the same one that was (and is) within Him.

Jesus also spoke "When you do this to the least of these (meaning persons), you do it to me as well." SO... we all are connected... we all are ONE... which is hinted at when you consider how people who love each other are often found to be thinking the same thought at once (it's not just mothers/daughters and such, but LOVE is the connecting factor.)

This GOD which is within each one of us... and IS each one of us at our cores; this is the same God as you hae learned of. ANd IN ADDITION, "The devil" also lives within each one of us, as is easily seen in human vices.

:-) I lost myself... where was I? Sorry.... maybe that's it this time around.

OH YEA... you asked why GOd---if He knows all---allows evil?

God allows evil because he loves us that much; He will not take away your freedom to do whatever you want, but instead will allow your mistakes and watch closely by and make sure that no matter how bad you screw up you still will not screw up that bad (and if you begin to, that's when the ANgel of Death comes out and prevents you from hurting "yourself" (which in fact, it is only yourself which you ultimately hurt because God----although He cannot interefere with your own freedom to do as you want, He does ORDINARILY (and always) prevent such actions from weighing in on the best interest of another... so that nobody get's hurt in even-so-much-as the slightest way from a source that they didn't have it coming fairly from.

Sorry as that might have gotten confusing, but I hope that helps. :-)

Can you accept the idea that God has a plan? Because he does.
Can you accept that God does not think on a human level but a much, much higher level? Because he does.
Have you been told that one day you will know the answers to all your questions? You will.
Part of my experience in living has been to accept that I have unanswered questions. But I trust God and his plan and I don't fret the small stuff anymore.
