i just had a physical, and my hieght was 5ft6, and my weight was 97. I exersice ALOT, becuase i play soccer on a premeir team. Its weird cause i dont really seem skinny to me, but i know everyone says i am. I am loosing alot of weight because i am exersising so much , but my weight seems to not fit my height!
( i am thirteen)

You are way too skinny-you should weigh at least 140-155lbs...

Waaaay too light. It's unhealthy to be so skinny. I'm sure you've noticed a bit of bloating sometimes, like in the morning. That's not fat. It's condensed water. When you deprive your body of food, especially carbohydrates, your metabolism actually SLOWS DOWN. It doesn't remain at its same speed. Your body goes into emergency mode and retains water. You need to eat when everyone else eats and exercise regularly. Being healthy is HARD. You can't just get along by not eating. As long as you exercise PROPERLY you won't gain a single pound by eating well.

Catherine, if you have just gone through a sudden growth spurt and shot up 6 inches. This weight might be normal????
However, I think it best that you see a doctor if you are not gaining weight within the next week or so.
There could be any number of health issues that could cause this low weight. None of these would be good for your long range health.

What funeral home do you want your flowers sent to? You know it's not good or you wouldn't be asking. Get a grip and go eat something. If you gained 30 pounds with a 5'6" frame you would look great. As it stands now, you are a candidate for an early grave because it is obvious you are NOT taking care of your body. You are malnourished.

I'm sure you're smart enough to know that is way tooooo skinny. Here is a height and weight scale.

Your BMI is so low this puts you at risk for thinning bones even heart disease. Look at this web site and really study it. This is not good. You are lacking a lot of nutrients. Please start eating better and taking in vitamins, eating foods with calcium and just eating more!!!

97 pounds is very underweight. A person with medium bone structure at 5'6" should weight between 125-145.

you should probably be about 110-120. Even 105 would be healthy,i guess,but 97 is too skinny.

Girl you need to eat. Get up to 115-125 and you will at least look healthy.
Can you see your ribs? If you can, youre too skinny. Look at your shoulder blades, bend over and see if the tops of your femurs protrude past your glutes.

Depends on your age, but from Seventeen Magazine's BMI calculator, your BMI is 15.654, which is underweight. Try increasing your good fats intake. There are plenty of ways to increase your weight properly and healthily.

get real. you know you are skinny so stop rubbing it in. i am 5 foot 6 and i weigh 104. but i dont go around asking if i am to skinny when i already know i am and i am gaining weight. get real and grow up
