I put it in my will that my ashes will be entombed with the ashes of all my pets. When my pets die, I'm going to have them cremated and keep the ashes so we can all be together in the tomb, even though none of us will know it.

Haha, did the pet die naturally at the same time as you did? Or do you order it killed in your will like you're some demented Egyptian pharaoh wanting to bury lots of real people and animals with you?

If it didn't die yet, no one would agree to killing a pet for your whim, that's cruel. And if it died BEFORE you, it would be too rotten and stinky and the undertakers will refuse to handle it. Maybe if it dies BEFORE you and you have it taxidermied.

I don't think they allow burying ANYTHING with bodies except a suit of clothes, unless you were Elvis and paid for an extra-ritzy burial and round-the-clock security for many decades. Ordinary people can't have that. There will be a nasty epidemic of grave-robbing if people started to ask for stuff buried with them when they die. Egyptian graves of nobles were rich plunder and by now they have mostly been picked clean. A stuffed pet might not be worth very much but the grave-robber knows there's always e-Bay...plus there's a risk he spreads disease bacteria from putrefaction, why do you think we bury dead people anyway?

It would be cruel to the animal to bury it if it isn't already dead, and it would be selfish of you to have the pet killed first, just so it can be buried with you. However, if the pet and you die at roughly the same time, then I believe there is no law against having the pet buried with you. My own opinion is that after I am dead, the manner in which I am buried does not matter to me.

Is your pet cremated? then yes, your pet can go in the casket with you.

I think that would be ok if it was stuffed, as long as it was a small animal. A stuffed horse would NOT fit in your casket. Unless you are a very large person.

Will the pet be alive? THAT is the problem. Maybe then you can be cremated, then your family cremated the pet when it dies, then you can be buried or put in the same urn?

Because it's killing a living creature for no good reason. Either you eat the animal or use it for some other purpose. To kill it just to bury it with you is selfish and heartless.

If you're talking about having it buried with you after it's natural death, I'm not sure how that would work in terms of your faith, but the cemetery will have problems complying with regulations for leaving behind animal remains.

There are rules about the remains of humans NOT being buried with their deceased "pets." No one has challenged this in a way that made "points" for this to be reversed. It continues. Peace, Love and God Bless.

I can't speak for others, but at the time of my death, my dog was not yet dead and well, he was not of the mindset to be buried, cremated or buried at sea with me.

I had to voice my understanding of his position, and he was allowed to live out his life. He moved out of state, changed his name and has not been seen

that is my story and im sticking to it

The ancient egyptians always had their pets entombed with them, living or not. I personally would just rather leave all that I have to my cat, just to P.O. the family members that turn into a bunch of vultures for inheritance. Let the critter live forever!

Because some states have laws where animal remains can not be buried w/ human remains. I don't see the difference bones & ashes are all the same when they are buried beneath the ground.

well if your beloved pet is still living when you die, it might not appreciate being buried alive. If it has predeceased you, then you can have it preserved and buried with you no problem.
