It could mean a soldier's specialty or job with the military. If you mean "Army of Occupation", that is when a war is fought, and the winning army stays there to keep peace or control the population or when an army is stationed in a country with the intent of preventing war. hope this helps a bit. peace

Assuming we are talking about description for personnel and not a military occupation of a country,
All job positions in the Army (and Air Force, Navy, Marines, etc.) are assigned a title and a number, together known as the MOS - Military Occupation Specialty. Some of the occupations are grouped together for classification perposes, such a Financial, Vehicle Repair, Nuclear, Rifleman, etc. If a person is asked what his/her MOS is, that usually gives a specific response - I was a Finance Clerk, SP4. Every unit has a table of organization and a fixed number of slots into which people can be fitted. When I went overseas, my unit had 7-8 people acting as Finance Clerks because of the size of the unit and the manual work done each month. Only one person was in the Finance Clerk slot and only that person could be promoted to the maximum rank assigned that slot - SP5. All the others were blocked from promotion.
On going into the army, a person may request a field - the group occupation and if the Army needs that specialty, it may guarantee that the inductee will be assigned an MOS in that field at the lowest rank.

You're going to have to be a little more specific. What is the context?

Military Occupational Specialty: your Army job, basically

Military Occupation: The act of a country or coalition in which they use their military forces to patrol and control another country's territory.
