Your question is not clear. If you mean it's about something like Abu Ghraib, then it would be wrong for "the brass" to suppress the truth. However, I am more inclined to doubt that this is actually happening according to your source(s). For one, what kind of "truth" is involved here if any? Just saying the "Iraq War is wrong" can mean a lot of things. Rumors, hearsays, opinions, are NOT truths and I think someone has given you some B.S. With all the well-publicized scandals going on in the Army, examples: Abu Ghraib, and death of Pat Tillman in Afghanistan, it is most unlikely that any "brass" would be so stupid as to do something that would end his/her career and go to prison, at least not at this point in time.

How would one troop/platoon know the truth about Iraq? They would only know their perspective/opinion. As far as troops being order not to tell the public the truth that's a bunch of crap! You are just as free in the military as you are as a civilian if you want to speak your mind you can, also on that note some troops are disclosed classified information that they can not tell the public which you should respect because them telling could cause harm to other American troops. So get ahold of yourself and stop trying to be so political!

Of course it's not right.
Its also the case that it's a VERY sensitive subject amongst those who have served and are knowledgeable about the situation, I have had several people I've known for years in the mid-ranks that I've know personally get really animated and say that if the American people knew just how bad the administration was screwing the troops and the Iraqis (through various means), there would be riots in the streets and the Administration and Congress would have been run out of town.
This was from a bunch of guys who are in a position to know and who all voted Republican down the line during the last two elections. It got so that I ended up in the bizarre situation of having to calm them down a bit and forcibly change the subject at a recent welcome home / good luck / going away party.
It's a bad bad situation, which does not serve the interests of the US citizenry or our interests abroad particularly well.

They are not allowed to give their opinion to the public because people take what one member of the military says as a fact when they might not have a clue what's going on. Just like there is privacy laws for health care and lawyers it's the same for the military. Do you want your Doctor telling everyone your business? Not everyone knows everything that's going on in Iraq and there is no one truth to the war. My husband is in the Air Force and there are many things that he doesn't know. There are others in the military that fully support the war and the president. The conspiracy theorist are the reason that things can't be reveled because they think that everyone is out to get them. If you don't like this country than you are free to move elsewhere.

The person asking this question has a long history of making up evil lies in his attempts to demonize the people who protect his freedom and his life from those who he glorifies and would kill him if given the chance. I challenge him to name the "brass" that allegedly orders soldiers to "not admit the truth", and to name the "troops" who are telling him about such orders. How will not do so. He will make up more lies to try to support his past lies. He is a liberal...

Anyone can Say whatever they want.. even the troops.. BUT.. it doesn't mean that they are Safe from "Backlash".
I Hear that if you try and knock it.. you will probably get "Special Treatment"( and not the good kind!) from your fellow troops who want to believe that the Job they signed up for isn't being taken advantage of and being used for something they don't believe in.
So basically.. it's not just the GAYS in the military that follow the "DON'T ASK.. DON'T TELL" Rule .. it just gets used differently, that's all!

No, that wouldn't be right. It would be an illegal order which a service member would not be obligated to follow which, along with the utter lack of specifics in your question, makes me believe that it's probably not really happening.

I have a hard time believing that this is happening. My brother is high up in the airforce and he is free to admit that he does not agree with this war or the president.

NO it isn't right.
They are over there expieriencing all of it, and they know it's not right. They don't want the American public to know becuase it would cause so many problems.
