if you get divorced, but then have sex with your ex wife/husband, this surely can't be considered a sin right? as long as neither remarries, that is.

I am not sure what the Orthodox Churches declare on this point but Divorce is forbidden under pain of excommunication by the catholic Church. This is because, the words of the Gospel by Jesus are taken literally. However, a process called, an' Annulment ' is a process in the Catholic Dioceses, led by a Marriage Tribunal which examines matters relevant to the marriage, if it has been established in a Catholic church. A possible result is that the Marriage based on Evidence given by the spouses concerned, the marriage might be declared Null & Void; ie. that the marriage has impediments serious enough to be able to say that although the ceremony took place there were serious faults related to the factor of Vows and Commitments. For example lack of proper intentions or that the marriage is bigamous or that the Vows were dis-honestly made.

The Bible is clear about what is a sin and what is not.
Also it is clear about what is the situation must be for a person to have sex with another person.

They must be legally married to each other. --thats it!

When someone divorces another that breaks the legal tie between the two.
They are no longer legally married.

This means that they cannot have sex.

If they do they are going against the law of the land and show disrespect for the governmental authorities that Christians are required to follow.(until it goes against Gods law)

Since some sects of christianity won't even recognize divorce as legitimate, it's not a sin.

It's probably a Roman Catholic sin, but not one to Christianity in general. Does it really matter...? They wouldn't be hurting anyone!

As long as you only have relations from behind a holy water blessed white sheet with a hole in it. It is only through that hole that you will be forgiven.
