If your sinuses are packed, like you are congested, sometimes that can put pressure on the tear duct and make your eyes water. I know it happens to me all the time when I have a cold. Be thankful it isn't both eyes!

you may have a blocked tear duct. Your tears come from your lacrimal gland by the outer edge of your eyebrow and drain into the small hole on the lower inner eye. if the drain duct is blocked, then your moisture has no where to go but down your cheeks.

eyestrain? maybe a bright light caught it somehow.
maybe you were around onions?
maybe you were around something you're alergic to?
did you rub your eye before it began to water?
maybe a tiny fruit fly or dust or something got in there.
or maybe an eyelash is caught under the lid.
