Because were stupid. We don't want to believe in the simple because we like things complicated.

There's a thesis in logic which says "the simplest explanation to a phenomenon is most likely true". That's call "Ockham's Razor" called after a Medieval Monk who started suspecting that philosophers (and theologians) were taking things too far.

And see poor Kant and Hegel, nobody effing understands them.

The mind should listen to every choice, simple or hard and weigh both of them carefully. Not minding if they are simple or hard to understand.

Not to mock our friend "Carlos Mal", an answerer, who eloquently quoted Kant and Hegel but I feel your question is closer to the fact that humans' discount the obvious because it is obvious. When is it ever desirable to face the truth when more lucrative to avoid the truth? Is this not stuff of heaven and hell?

Simple truths are boring to talk about, typically. Us silly humans are always trying to impress each other. How are you going to impress somebody with the mundane truth? Also, you can't communicate the mundane truth in words. If you try, it just makes you sound cheesy, ridiculous.

This is why churches flourish. its about "showing" your faith. How much of the truth actually "happens" at church? Little to nothing. The one truth that happens at church is what I've just explained in my answer here.

most people don't look- most aren't truly seeking- or they would consider every possiblity...see the truth that we are all pointing at...

we are all programmed to see what we want to see- actually what "they" want us to see~ religions, parents, class systems, social groups, etc

the simplest truths can be seen- experienced, if you can somehow disidentify with those mental constructions
