To decorate, spread cookies with your favorite butter cream frosting to which you’ve added orange food coloring. Place candy corn pieces on top of frosted cookies to make jack-o-lantern faces.
(I KNOW this is recipe is especially made for Halloween...but you can always sustitute the designs/colors wherever possible)
2. Banana Boats
Ingredients:
1 banana per child
Ice cream
Mini marshmallows
Chocolate chips
Whip cream
Instructions:
1. Slit each banana open lengthwise
2. Put ice cream, mini marshmallows and chocolate chips in the slit
3. Add whip cream to the top
4. Enjoy!
3. Choc-o-bananas
With no stove-top cooking or chopping required, this frozen banana recipe is truly for children. RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
3 bananas
Ice-cream sticks
2 chocolate bars, weighing about 1 1/2 ounces each
1 tablespoon nut topping, crispy rice cereal, granola, or shredded coconut (optional)
1. Peel the bananas and remove any stringy fibers. Cut the bananas in half, widthwise, and push an ice-cream stick through the cut end of each half. Cover them in plastic wrap and freeze for about 3 hours.
2. After the bananas are frozen, place the chocolate bars in a microwave-proof bowl and cook on High for about 2 minutes, or until the chocolate melts. Check after one minute. Stir in the nuts, cereal, or coconut. Using a butter knife, spread the chocolate mixture over the frozen bananas to coat them completely. Kids can roll them in more topping, although this is messy!
3. Rest the pops on a plate covered with waxed paper and freeze until ready to serve. Makes 6 pops
4. Peanut Butter Banana Scones
These delicious peanut butter banana scones are the perfect addition to any tea party. RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
3 cups flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup peanut butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons half and half
1 cup chopped bananas
1. Heat the oven to 375°. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt to evenly incorporate the ingredients.
2. Have your child combine the peanut butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and I cup of the half and half in a medium bowl. Using an electric mixer set on medium speed, mix the ingredients until evenly blended. Gently stir the peanut butter mixture into the flour mixture just until combined. Then gently stir in the bananas.
3. Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it twice, then gently pat it out so that it is 1 inch thick. Cut out scones using a round biscuit cutter and arrange them on the baking sheet. Spread the remaining half and half on top of the scones with a pastry brush and then bake them for 20 minutes or until the bottoms are slightly golden.
4. Cool the scones on a wire rack, then serve them plain or with jam. Makes 20 scones.

The best is to slice a ripe banana into chunks and poke a popsicle stick into each chunk for a handle. Then roll them in crushed nuts or even leave them plain. Put them in the freezer overnight. You get a great frozen treat without a lot of calories.
If you don't want to go to any effort, just sprinkle cinnamon and sugar mixture on it as you eat your way down it.

For a party you could make some fruit kabobs. Put sliced bananas and strawberries on skewers and serve with dipping chocolate, crushed nuts and maybe some whipped cream. A chocolate fountain would be really neat with it if you have one.

If you have any Brazilian friends or friends that know Brazilians check with them. The Brazilian people have about a thousand different ways of preparing bananas, which they call plantains.
