i went out with this kid before,for months. we seperated and dated other people. Recently, we started talking again, and we have teh most AMAZING conversations at night. like unbelievable, we talk about EVRYTHING. and its JUSt like old times. and he always brings back memories.& we always get the chills together on the phone. i asked him who he likes and he replied " well the girl i am talking to right now!" and i was soo happy. i like him too.. but we have these amazing conversations and me and him talk about anything, nd he tells me he doesnt feeel awakrd expressing his feelings and stuff. so im deffintely special. but there are other guys at my school who are waitng for me they like me to. I told them im not sure whats going on right now with me and me ex. so i finally asked my ex about whats going on and he said " i like you but idk i dont want to go out with anyone right now, so you can do whatever". what does that mean? i feel the same way too, but is he just playin me then? help

My experience with young males is that many have definite vulnerability issues. Trust and rejection are poison to most guys.( Actually to us all too.)They try to be cool and tough but many have trust issues that keep them from showing how they really feel.
Having someone 'safe' to talk with helps them have a sounding board that can be a caring and if they're lucky honest but caring reality check as well. Most males have commitment issues and they are secretly afraid that they will get trapped into a relationship that they aren't ready to take to the next level.
When you ex says he wants to you to not feel tied down and you can go out with anyone for now some mixed messages are being sent.
He doesn't want you to think he is needy or that you cant have a life with other people.
I would go out with other people in groups and keep those relationships light for a while and see if he has moved on, needed some time to explore his feelings about your relationship or he is game playing you to test your loyalty to your relationship.

Just as when girls say it, it can mean different things for different guys as well. Normally, it just means that they are just not interested in any relationship at that time, other cases, they already have someone, yet others, because they are simply not interested in you anymore.
Guys who come out of relationships have a lower rate of getting back together with their ex than what you think, mostly because of bad feelings or how you broke up the last time.

Sounds like he's playing you. I dunno.. hard to say. I have a friend who recently said he was going to give up dating because it's "pointless" if you're not gonna marry and have children. Personally I would never deccline a girl asking me out cuz I "didn't want to date at the moment". My only suggestion would maybe set up a "non-date" *wink*wink* and then make sexual advances on him. Like rest your head on his shoulder or something I dunno lol.. Hope that helps a bit.
