My boyfriend and I was having that little joking conversation and he asked me "If we were to last long enough and get married in our lives would you want a traditional or contemporary wedding....or would you want to elope?"

My question is....whats the difference between a contemporary and traditional?

traditional would be the church wedding for sure with all the traditional things (plain invitations, veil over face, sit down plated reception) contemporary would be doing it a little different, maybe a garden or beach wedding, fun, handmade invitations, bright colors (or some other new combo) and maybe some funky cake.

The term, Traditional refers to a type of Wedding where the choices made would model those of Weddings from generations before. Traditional Weddings generally follow strict guidelines of etiquette and offer limited flexibility. The term, Contemporary refers to all choices that differ from the Traditional approach in a more modern, personalized approach.
