I want everyone to listen only god will judge us and know one can come and say we are going hell. And know one has any proof that god said that. And i don't believe that being gay is a choice. There is alot of people who we think are straight or gay becuz they were always gay. They only were straight to hide their true feeling for the same sex. And u can never change a person from being attracted to the same sex.

Thierry, I have a theory about the bible's take on homosexuality.

You know how people interpret the bible the way THEY want to read it? Well, I have always been a staunch believer that Leviticus (one of the dumbest books of the bible) really is warning against the act of men "raping" other men or boys, NOT loving them. Since love is NOT a sin or a crime, I'm thinking some bible enthusiasts have misinterpreted the message regarding "laying with men " to single out gays when, in fact, it means something extremely sinister and depraved.

I'm an agnostic, so I don't believe in the bible as a valid historical document ANYWAY, but I HAVE thought about the towns of Sodom and Gomorrah and how they were supposed to be really hellhole places, "dens of iniquity and sin," if you don't mind the vapid biblical rhetoric. There was slavery and prostitution, probably a bit of S&M thrown in, clay pot insertions, a bit of bondage and don't forget the inflatable sheepskin dolls!

So do you think it's possible there were also despicable pedophiles living there also who sexually assaulted boys and young men, slaves who couldn't resist, even priests and so-called holymen committing sodomy against unwilling victims, and THAT"S what was considered the abomination?

And now, people are being told, (often by PRIESTS,) that homosexuality is the abomination. Sure, why wouldn't they turn attention away from themselves and blame the gays?

I hate that word "abomination." It's sooooo .... finger-pointing.

Just my POV.

Have you ever heard of Sodom and Gomorrah? Well from what I understand people were having relations with men who were men and I guess they were raping people, etc.. I cannot remember all the names of the people who had to leave the city and one women looked back and turned into a pillar of salt after God had told her not too. God destroyed the city. Homosexuality is an abomination, it is just as bad as fornication, adultery, witchcraft, all that. And those are the ones who cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, atleast so I've read in I believe it was the book of Revelations or the one before that, so don't quote me because I may be wrong but I know it is in there somewhere. No matter what though God still loves us all He just hates our actions because as humans we were born with sin, but cannot not be held accountable until a certain age whatever age that may be.

The whole thing is acting upon it. God loves everyone no matter who they are or what they have done. Acting upon it means taking part in sexual activities. From what I understand God made a man to be with a women, that is what he intended.

I'm not trying to make a rude statement but God made Adam and Eve at the beginning not two men or two women to be with the same sexes. If He intended that that is the way it would've been. And about people being born a man or a woman in their brain that is crap. The only way you could mistake that is if you were a hermapherdite ( a female with parts that are over grown and look male like or a male with undergrown parts that look female like). One thing about God is that He doesn't have has never made mistakes.

All religions started out as cults by definition. They are simply groups of people with shared beliefs. They can quote the bible or other sources, all of which were written by mortals, but they are just quoting other men. Religion and beliefs on going to heaven or hell differ from generation to generation. If you believe in heaven and hell, than you can make the rules up just like every other man has done over the course of history. Personally, I believe in energy and we all share it. All living thing are all the same and although nor I or you can never understand it, we will never truly die. If there is a god though, which would be nice, how can he judge anyone for being what he himself created?

God wants us to be straight. He made it obvious by giving the world only two sexes (male and female) and putting us together. He also said to "Be fruitful and multiply" which is something gay people cannot do. I am not against gay people because everyone is a sinner, and I can't say that a person is going to hell because they are gay, because everyone falls short of the glory of God. Just because God didn't intend for us to be gay doesn't mean he will condemn gay people to hell (as far as I know). God didn't intend for people to lie, steal, or cheat either, but doing those things doesn't necessarily mean we are going to hell either. No person in the world can say who is, or isn't, going to hell. So next time a person tries to say that, ask them where they got their information and tell them to give you an exact verse from the bible which states that all gay people go to hell.

Hi. You do not choose your sexual orientation. It is given to you by God.It is what you do with it that determines if it is a sin or not. Now is God going to send you to Hell because of what He gave you.I think you know the answer. If the Bible quotes differently then you would have to read the more than 50 versions of the Bible (in English alone)to find out .Some Christians have got no idea what they are saying about this subject.

Hold your horses, Mr. I-Want-Everyone-To-Listen! Sin is defined as distance from God. Sin is defiance AGAINST God. The sin of homosexuality is in many ways just a run of the mill sin, seemingly no better, no worse, and no different than any other sin against God. But it IS different in that this sin, unlike ANY other, defends itself. This sin, unlike any other, denies that it is wrong.

I tell people all the time ... replace the words gay and homosexual with ANY other sin and see how your reasoning holds up then. You don't believe that being gay is a choice? Well, guess what? In one sense of the word choice, NO SIN is a choice! We are ALL born fallen! So, what's this garbage about gays being born that way. If we could PROVE that Jeffrey Dahmer was indeed BORN a cannibal then would you advocate cannibalism as a lifestyle alternative? If we could prove that liars are born that way then would you say that it's okay to lie?

You simply are not thinking clearly! God SAYS that homosexuality is a sin! I'll say it again. GOD SAYS IT! Why in the name of God are you on Yahoo Answers preaching to US for repeating what God says? AND ... for anyone who trusts God as an all-knowing being, do you REALLY think that your few lines of totally parotted, totally unoriginal regurgitated party-line speech is going to change our minds? Seriously?

You have to begin at the beginning. Did a bunch of people sit around deciding what was right and wrong OR ... did God make the rules? IF you believe in God then you KNOW the answer! IF you don't believe in God then why are we talking? I no more care about what an atheist has to say about homosexuality than I care about what a bee has to say about badmitton.

So, GOD SAYS that homosexuality is a sin. GOD SAYS that the wage of sin is DEATH. And we hear from homosexuals that say in effect, who CARES what God says? Or ... even worse ... God is a LIAR! My LIFESTYLE is NOT a sin! I embrace it! I'm GAY! WEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! So, while you are right in concept that God is the one to judge us and only He can decide who does and does not go to hell, we KNOW that God is not a liar. He is JUST and TRUTHFUL. Given everything that God says AND everything that homosexuals say, it's like two trains heading toward each other at 120 miles per hour. You can say all day long that no one knows what those train conductors are going to do. True! But it doesn't take an Einstein to figure out that a collision is about to take place. You embrace your lifestyle as God rebukes it and you deny His moral authority as He invokes it and the conclusions are obvious.

Now, you tell me where you'll end up.

Christians will tell you over and over again "Its in the bible!" and it says that, says this...blah blah blah. Truth is, those same Christians telling you that you are going to hell....most likely interpret the bible differently from one another. Christians of today interpret anyway they want. Some take it literal, some take it symbolically, while others take it literally-symbolic.

Don't believe the hogwash in here from Conservative Christians. They pick and choose at will....having a field day attacking gays when they could be stoning people somewhere("Its in the Bible!") for whatever reasons. I am not gay and don't know first hand what the discrimination is like, but i do have a cousin who is gay and have witnessed him experiencing unnecessary harassment from homophobic people. And I am convinced that the zeal that they attack gays doesn't come from the bible, it comes directly from ignorance and prejudices.

(I in fact like the bible for the most part. Its more like philosophy to me. There is good and bad in it, same with the Quran.)

there are a number of gay and earlier gay Christians. purely considering which you're a Christian does not recommend you will under no circumstances have emotions like that or be tempted to stay a gay life-style - whether this isn't any diverse than the different sexual sin. we're not meant to have intercourse exterior of marriage. we're not meant to dedicate incest. we're not meant to have gay intercourse. we're not meant to lust after somebody we are actually not married to. etc. it extremely is a stressful factor, whether this is purely yet another of the numerous temptations devil has dreamed up. With God's help, a gay man or woman CAN get well normalcy. i've got faith that whether a man or woman has sexual urges in direction of a member of their very very own intercourse, they could be a Christian. they only could take care of those urges, purely like somebody else has to administration their sexual urgers in direction of the different intercourse. all of it comes right down to the comparable factor. God under no circumstances pronounced that blue eyes are evil. He DID say that homosexuality is evil. yet, considering that He loves each and each man or woman, he desires to offer us ALL a great gamble to repent and stay in accordance to His will. He loves gay human beings. He does not love what they do. Likewise, he loves liars. He does not love what they do. and that i do no longer think that anybody is born gay, any further than a man or woman is born alcoholic.

No one knows who is going to hell or not. And I agree, I think there are people that are born gay. Being homosexual may be a type of disorder... I don't mean it in a derogatory way, but it is not "normal" for males to be attracted to males and females to other females. It's just a biological problem. The same as someone who is born with Down's, or autism, or someone who is born with any other type of mutation or abnormality. It doesn't mean they are evil or bad, they just can't help that impulse or feeling. Now it's a different matter when you talk about gay lifestyle in the sense that gays have a reputation for having very casual sex and not being monogamous... I know it's not the case with everybody, but it's the reputation they have... and that's what people are most turned off by.

I can only comment on this from the Christian point of view. In the bible homosexuality is considered an abomination. God loves everyone regardless of their sins. However He tells us that homosexuality is wrong and that we should not practice it. Now, childrens sexual development is highly influenced by early experiences in a process similar to imprinting. This allows for people to become sexually attractive to their own race. For example Chinese men usually find Chinese women more erotic the same is true for African Americans, and caucasions (sp?).Because the original sexual drive is diffuse it can thus be condioned in many ways. So no one is born gay.

Many "homosexuals" are acually bisexual because they are also attracted to the opposite sex. In one study homosexuals stated that heterosexual encounters were one of their presistant fantisys.

Also, just to make this clear the bible states in many, many places that homosexual actions are wrong. And many former homosexuals have stoped their homosexual relationships and started living heterosexual ones.
