That's too bad. But even though they are divorced you can still continue to have a relationship with him. Let him know how you feel about the whole situation. Let him know you want him to still be a big part of your life. Let him know he has been a role model for you and you want that to continue. He would appreciate it and make the effort. Give it a try!

Your emotions are normal and natural. Allow yourself to feel what you feel and then talk to each of your parents. Tell them how you feel. Your family is changing. Unfortunately, this is all too common in today's world. But if you love them you will want them to be happy. If they can't be happy while together, this may be the best thing for all of you. You can still stay in touch with your stepdad. He's been your Dad and will always be. He will always love you and will want to spend time with you. Time will help but be open with them both about your feelings.

Your mom and stepdad outgrew each other. It happens.
They may have even already started dating other people.
All you can do is offer love and support to both of them.
Also consider the possibilities... like 2 birthdays and 2 Christmases.

Maby you should talk to both of your parents. Let them both know that you need him in your life (I'm pretty sure he feels the same). Let them know how the split is hurting you.
