Yes, you could be. We didn't find out I was (very) allergic to dogs until after my husband brought home an abandoned pup. I found out when I had allergy tests-these will let you know for sure. That was 6 yrs ago and he's 55-60lbs and has a wonderful fenced in area with lots of trees he lives in, so we were able to adapt. My husband does the 'in' the pen stuff and I give him 'treats', run along side the pen to play and give him toys, etc. 'outside' his pen. I shower immediately after I'm with him, you can figure out what works best for you all. Now we have a great watchdog we really love.

you could be allergic to the dog. I am allergic to dogs and my nose runs, and my eye's will itch then will get all red. It's not fun. Some times I will get rashes. It's really not fun. So if you have though signs then yeah your probable allergic to the dog. I would go to the doctors and see what he says. I take Carlton and it works like a charm. Good luck and I hope your not allergic to dogs cause trust me it's not fun!!

Before you go to the pain and cost of blood tests, try taking some Benadryl. If it alleviates your symptoms, it probably is an allergy; but, it could be to something besides the dog. It could be the shampoo, flea spray, etc. that was used on him. Give it a while to wear off, if you can stand to; not everything will wash off.

How about going to an allergist and having them test you to see if you are actually allergic to dogs.
If you are actually allergic to the dog try allergy medications that the allergist recommends to you.

Yes, it sounds like you might be allergic. I would recommend that you set up an oppointment to see your doctor, and/or, talk to your doctor on the phone, just to make sure that you really are allergic, and, that it's not just something else!!!! I hope that you aren't allergic, but, don't get your hopes high, since, to me, it sounds like you are :( I hope that this answers your question! Thanks, and, good luck,
