Most beers and wines/champagnes (mass produced cheaper kinds) have additives that speed up the fermentation process that can negatively affect the product over long periods of time. Some of these additives may contribute to a 'hangover'. The more expensive quality wines (champagne is a sparkling wine, specifically from the Chapagne area of France...all others are technically sparkling wines) will last longer and get better with age. If properly stored, even the cheaper wines will have a fairly long life, but not an infinite lifespan. Check the label, if it contains sulfites (the additive) it won't last forever.

Yes, it will be fine and safe to drink. Bottling preserves wine (and champagne) for years. Being in the fridge makes no difference. Pop that cork and celebrate!

It should be fine. In the future, if you keep the bottle on it's side, it will stay no questions. That goes for wine too. By keeping the bottle on it's side, (on a slight downward angle is even better) you will keep the cork wet from the inside out, thus keeping it fresh forever.

I think I've only seen one bottle of champers go bad. It was one my mother-in-law had, and she hadn't stored it on its side. Not sure how old it was, but it didn't even make the normal "pop" sound when we removed the cork. YUCK.
If you've kept it in the fridge, it should be okay. It'll be nice and cold.

I think so, it'll just be really good. It won't go bad until you leave it opened for a while. Then, it hits the air, which has microbes in it, and it gets contaminated. But you should have a few good days with it

If the cork shrinks, it can go bad, but after a year, it is still fine. But I would drink it

Yes, it is safe because it has not been opened. I've done that before and it was fine.
