You hang a painting by a cable attached to the frame the painting sits in. A nail or screw in the wall should be all that is needed to attach the painting to the wall.

available lighting plays a major role in this decision of course, but paintings shold be mounted at eye level. If your eye hits the canvas in the upper third of the painting, that woulds be good. If this involves a grouping, the sizes and shapes of the frames should be intermingled so that the wnite grouping takes up a sizeable portion of the total wall surface
