I have come to dislike that term. At one time I would have said that I was spiritual but not religious. I believed in god but not the one of religion. And not really belief. Just, that was just how you grew up and you took it for granted but never looked. In a way agnostic. You believed in god but not religion. So belief but not dogma. agnostic is maybe, You don't have the belief that there is, Just that there could be.

Spirituality is a term used to describe one of the four human endowments, which are the physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual areas of our lives. If we ignore any one of those areas, we cannot be effective humans. The idea of spirituality is going to vary greatly from human to human; it could be attending church, doing Yoga, or sitting by a stream and meditating.

I think "spiritual" is becoming the norm in today's society. It's easy to pick and choose what you want to believe in. Say you want to believe that you can get into heaven by only putting forth positive energy. You keep your chakra's clear, and believe in karma. You live in a "green" house with a "green" car, and give to charitable organizations.

The problem is, Jesus said "I spit you out not because you are cold, or hot, but because you are lukewarm." There is no room for "what I want to believe" in most religions. It's more of a "this is what my religion believes." It's not that we cant think for ourselves, because we study and learn what we are choosing to believe. But you have to committ to something, or you believe in nothing.

Deist, I would think. There is no practical difference between agnosticism and atheism.
