Diet Coke will not sabotage your diet, since it has 0/low calories, sugar, and carbs. However, it won't necessarily improve your health. All that the drink offers is great taste and empty calories.

If you want a similar drink in taste and calorie/sugar/carb content, but more vitamins and adaptogenic herbs to help your overall nutrition, immune system, and energy level, try XS energy drinks. 0 carbs, 0 sugar, 0 calories. 9 flavors (cola, black cherry cola, tropical, citrus, cran-grape, cherry, rootbeer, lemon, tea berry) and 3 with caffeine-free flavors (tropical, cran-grape, rootbeer). The ones with caffeine have caffeine equivalent to 1 cup of coffee. They taste great, plus they have 4900% B12 and incredible amounts of other B vitamins, which truly give you the energy.

I agree. It's complete unnatural junk. I've read and heard from different sources that the caffeine in any cola can draw calcium away from the bones. Not a good thing.

Not if you don't drink too much of it. You can have a little bit to reward yourself during your diet. As long as you don't drink more than a can a day, your diet should be fine.

Some research says yes, others, no.

But all soda is bad, period. The acids formed from the carbonation process wreak havoc on your blood chemistry, which will do worse things to you than make you gain weight.
