Because the "God of this system of things", Satan the devil continues to blind the minds of unbelievers. (2Corinthians 4:4)
Some of these willingly allow themselves to be blinded because to acknowledge a Creator requires that one now seek to worship and obey him. Of course this is Satan's aim; to divert worship away from the true God. Genesis 3:1-4) reports how he used a lowly serpent to deceive Eve. He directly contradicted God and asserted that eating from this tree would bestow upon her God-like knowledge of good and bad.. He contines various forms of this lie today.

Why? Good question. I'll give you a star.
Mainly because despite the fact we like to believe we are enormously smart, in fact we humans are not.
Atheism is a concrete side effect. You can find it mostly in big cities where concrete takes nature's place.
If you take the man from he's natural habitat and put him in a box even a nice concrete box, soon will go crazy and start believing lots of strange things. Now, if man constructs the box himself, imagine the result. But things get more complicated when man are born in the boxes they're grand grand father build. They will soon start to say "there is no God".
In the end I would like to cut atheists pleasure of believing they outsmarted me by proving I misspelled, by adding that I am a savage living somewhere in the forests of Romania, therefore not knowing much about this English language (black bears don't listen to me anyway so why learn it?).
Thank you.

Do what I do - demand that God stops by the house before you believe. (and Jehovah's Witnesses don't count, although they're welcome to stop by and chat)
I guess I would also respond to any reasonable evidence, but after a few decades with no evidence turning up anywhere, I've sort of given up. You'd think after 2000 years somebody would have come up with a decent reason to believe.

Believe whatever you like, that is your prerogative. There are more than 2500 named gods to choose from, pick the one closest to your ideas and worship that one. Invent your own, many people do. Or do not believe in any gods. When you look hard at it, that is the logical and sensible choice.

mostly because it's true there is no god in reality.
the numbers of non believers is the fastest growing group of any and as the accesibility of knowledge goes on the upswing and more people get proper educations the result for one is the decline of religion .

By referring to "one true God" you show that you are pretty much an atheist. The Hindus assure us that there are ten thousand Gods. If you deny the validity of 9,999 of them, you are very close to the atheist who denies all 10,000 Gods.

i suppose your desire to believe will eventually ensure that your unconcious mind or the suggestions of other people will provide you with experiences to believe in, but that's no guarantee that god is real.

There is a growing number of us who doubt the existance of the supernatural. I guess you have to quit asking questions about us and ask yourself your own why's and wherefor's as to your relationship with "Him".

If you believe what someone else says you should believe then its not really your belief, its theirs. You're the only one who can really further your religious journey.
