Hmmm, moving along at under 2 mph is a slow stroll, not a run. Won't help with weight loss at all. Pick up the pace to a brisk walk, covering 2 miles in 30 to 45 minutes, do it twice a day and you might drop 3-4 pounds in a month.

I don't think you will lose any weight with just one mile especially if it takes you 30 to 40 minutes. You have to combine it with good eating habits. If you keep eating what you eat and just doing 1 mile a day you will hardly notice a difference but you will feel better. You also have to take into account how much you weigh. Also try increase your distance that will make a big difference.

It's not really running if it takes you that long to run a mile. That's like a little over 1.5 miles per hour. A very slow walk.

If it takes you 30-40 minutes to "run" one mile, you may want to consider moving your legs faster.

hate to burst your bubble, but a good mile time is close to 8min. or up to 10min. if your going to jog. I'd suggest that you jog for 1hr a day and keep a constant pace.
