NO!!! In fact, while the military does not forbid it's female soldiers to recieve abortions (and it shouldn't...a woman can decide for herself what choice and why she makes it) unless there is a medical condition that demands it, aboritions are not covered under military health care.
When women are coming up for deployment, they are encouraged to go on birth control. By the time most military get to a certain point in prepping for deployment, they can be placed under no contact orders (meaning no intimate relations with others). Generally this happens after they have l eft home and gone to the forward staging base, so this is really to prevent casual sex. In any case, women are given pregnency tests as part of their pre-deployment physical. If the test is positive, the woman is removed from the deployment group (which means a scramble to fill her slot) and then can make the usual choices about her pregnancy (stay in or get out). If she stays in, she should be prepared to be on another deployment after the baby is over a year old. If a woman becomes pregnant while deployed (and that would mean she failed to follow a direct command/order as sex between deployed members is strictly forbidden), she will be packed up and sent home.

No. My daughter is in the Marines. She is pregnant, they are not going to force her to abort so she can go to Iraq with her company in February.
Who told you that?
AND Phillip W... women are not kicked out just because they become pregnant. They can ask to be discharged, but even that is not always allowed. You have to understand that the US military is the United States. When you join the military, you are a citizen, but are pretty much owned by the US government. You do what they tell you to, when they tell you to. If a woman gets pregnant, there is no one to tell them they MUST get out. How do I know this? Read above... My daughter is not getting kicked out. *I* was not kicked out when I had my children. That is another ill-informed answer to a very ill-informed question.

That would go over like a fart in church. The answer is NO. THe only case I know of a pregnant service women even in a combat zone recently was the Marine staff sergeant who said she didn't know she was pregnant and ended up having the baby on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the persian gulf.

No one can force another person to get an abortion in any instance. In some cases it might be nice if we could though. I can think of at least one person of hand who should have been forced to get one, deployment or otherwise. We would have been spared ignorant questions such as these.

How can you proudly display that you are "anti-patriotic"? You live in one of the greatest nations in the world. If you hate it that much please move to another country, where you can be killed for having the views you do. I am saddened by you. At first I thought "okay let him have his views" but every time I answer a question in regards to the military I read some ignorant rant you wrote, or even dumber question you post about the military. I am a former soldier and am currently a military wife, and damn proud to be! I do not know what happened to you to make you feel this way, but I do know that soldiers like my husband and friends will continue to protect your right to be ignorant! However I would love for you to say what you have the balls to say sitting behind a keyboard to a group of soldiers! I bet you will not be so brave then! When you talk like that you disrespect every one who living and dead who has fought a war for your rights! People like you make me want to re-think the 1st amendment! You should not be allowed to talk bad about YOUR military! They die for your right to be the way you are. You should be grateful for them, it is because of soldiers, your p*ssy @ss can hide behind a computer and never really stand for anything! GO TO HELL!

No
However, if she's single and hasn't been in for very long they'll more than likely discharge her.
That's what happened to a girl at my 2nd command, at least. She came to us pregnant out of "A" school. They opted to send her home because she was useless to us (mission readiness) and didn't want to burden another command by sending her somewhere else.

no they do not. actually if a female is pregnant she will not deploy until after her baby is born, she is also given the option for an honorable discharge if she wishes.

You have my vote for the single most thoughtless question that I have ever read on this forum. With the current administration and half the candidates running on an antiabortion plank where would you get such and idea.
