Why is it that...
... if I say I believe in Mithras, who died and rose from the dead, I'm Satanic, when you believe in Jesus, who died and rose from the dead?
... if I drink wine and eat bread in the name of the God and Goddess, I am committing blasphemy, when you drink wine and eat bread in the name of your Lord and God?
... if I believe in faeries, I'm an over-fantasized idiot, when you believe in angels and demons?
... if a Priestess blesses an area, it is unholy and dirty, and if one of your priests blesses an area, it is sacred and pure?
... if I invite you to a ritual, I'm trying to convert you, but if you invite me to Mass, you are doing the word of your God?
... if I say I don't like Christianity, I'm Anti-Christian and going to Hell, though you can say you hate Paganism and every God and Goddess that exists within its branches?
... if I say that I do healing magick, I am a heretic and should be burned, but if one of your kind does a healing, they are holy?

Wow. So whoever said that Mithras lacks 1500 years of Scripture and therefore has no authencity is right. But he/she implies their religion does. Then they insult the Roman Catholic Church. I have news for you. Your religion also lacks any authenticity. Who's the leader of your religion? How was he/she chosen? Can you trace their authority back to Jesus himself? Not so much.
The Catholic church has many problems and has been horribly mistaken in history, but it is the church that Jesus founded. Whatever protestant religion you are, that religion exists because a Human decided it should. They possess no authority from God, because Jesus was the last and greatest prophet, so no person after Jesus has direct communication with God.
"My God would overpower yours"
You state that outside of Christianity there is no other God, then concede that there is, it just isn't as "powerful" as yours. Come on. I'm willing to accept that this was just a grammatical error or a figure of speech, but it implies that you believe differing religions are competing. This is completely the OPPOSITE of what Christianity teaches, outside of strict biblical literal interpretation. The Bible went through many authors, edits, revisions, translations, and years. It's downright stupid to literally interpret the bible. It holds religious truth, not literal truth. It certainly does not teach to blast others' beliefs by saying "your" God will overpower theirs. There is only one God, and he is as much everyone else's God as he is yours.
"My God loves you, wants the best for you and is not usually found anywhere near a church of that type."
Last time I checked, Christianity taught that God is found everywhere. If you believe in the nature of the Christian version of God, you would believe he is found everywhere, including Catholics, even if you don't like them. Jesus taught that God is in lepers and tax collectors, even though his religious society didn't like them. The point is, even if you don't like catholocism, you are a blatant hypocrite for attacking a religion while at the same time confessing to be a Christian, because no Christian religion teaches that you are not respectful of other religious views.
"I do not hate pagans. I do hate politicians, and many elected officials, but that is scriptural to hate evil. I prefer the company of hindus to many many many others. I like them, they are of honorable character, humble and generous people."
This is a nice quote. /sarcasm. What school of thought since Nazism taught that these kind of generalizations are acceptable and at all accurate? I have great respect for the Hindu religion, it's principles are not that different from Christinanity, and if any religious lifestyles causes a person to live a good life and brings them closer to the God they believe in, then I feel that God is working in their lives.
"Do I condone your faith, no, but to kill you is making me a murderer and Jesus would punish me with something more horrible...I would not."
You would "prevent [you] from burning at the stake" because you fear God's retribution, not from any kind of human decency or the principles Jesus gave to us? A truly selfish thing to say.
The point of any religion is to believe in it, and for it to help you live a good life. Whatever religion this is is, to me, a good thing in a person's life. No one knows what the "right" religion is, but catholicism is the only Christian religion that can directly trace it origins and its leaders, however flawed those leaders are, to Jesus. I will never tell someone their religion is wrong or that they should convert because that is God's place, not mine. I also feel it is wrong to attack another religion based on its teachings. I disagree with other religions, but I don't believe I should change their mind. All one should do is give them the opportunity to be exposed to your religion IF THEY SO CHOOSE.
So sorry for the rant. I hold nothing against the OP's religious beliefs or the poster who this is in response to, but please don't attack other religions for their flaws when every religion, including your own, has their own flaws.
"The bible mentions the words hypocrites and blindness often enough..... It's a constant source of amazement to me that the people it's meant to reach never see it.... although people like you try to point it out in the way you just did"
Quoted for Truth.

As a Christian I believe in Jesus, it is my duty as a good soldier of Jesus Christ to try and show you the truth by love, not hate or hatefulness. I am sorry if some christians come off that way, you can't change anybody or anything with hate, and you don't have to tell me about that on here, I would like to just give you a sinners prayer you can say that if you believe in Jesus you can pray that will lead you to the cross of Christ, just say, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

I apologize if anyone has ever called you satanic, a blasphemer, an over-fantasized idiot, unholy or dirty, a converter, anti-Christian, or a heretic. I am a Christian...but I'm not condemning you. Jesus is teaching me to love everyone, no matter their situation or opinion. I have no authority to hate or judge, because I am a sinner just like you...the only one given that authority is Jesus Christ. Again, I'm sorry if anyone has ever called you any one of these horrible names or descriptions. Please don't generalize Christians, because I hope that not all of us are such haters.

Good questions. When a person's "religion" tells them that the only way to get to "heaven" is their way, they NEED to do that in order to see you get to heaven. So many religions are not tolerant of other beliefs. That is why I don't practice any religion. My beliefs come from what God has shown me personally.
(so you all know - I use quotes because these are the terms that I'm familiar with, but they are meant to be interpreted in relation to your beliefs. Also, I capitalize God because I am giving respect to our creator(s), whatever the title(s) you may use)

I agree. No one should judge. I have an Uncle who says I am going to Hell because I am not a Jehoviahs(sp?) Witness. I asked him if he thought all non witnesses went to hell, he said yes. i asked him if he thought his Mother was in heaven or Hell. he said Heaven of course, i said how could she be when she died before the start of the Witness religion. he did not know how to answer this. I said... well there ya go.
no matter what you believe in, at least you believe in something, right? As long as it does not hurt others, why is it bad?

So, I guess you think the Bible is a load of bunk? I certainly couldn't change your mind in one YA response. For those of us who believe it is the word of God, however, the Bible tells us to stay away from Babylon and her evil ways. God hates paganism (not necessarily the pagans themselves) because it is not the path that leads to everlasting life. God has been more than tolerant with humans for a very long time. He has allowed us to try practically every from of government as well as religion. But, there is still only one way to worship that is acceptable, and that is God's way.

The most powerful, and most erroneous tool an organized religion has is to demand of it's members that their believe is the only true believe and that tenant must never be questioned. Don't blame them for upholding what they are brainwashed to do. Do your thing and ignore the ignorant.

Not all Christians are so closed minded as to think those things.
Makes me want to ask similar questions about pagans who lump everyone not a pagan into such catagories.

I try this via fact the premises to the questions are fake. i could look like an fool attempting to describe why this is fake, and it wastes my time. as properly, when I attempt to offer a life like reaction as to why the question is fake, i'm getting pronounced for "no longer an answer". So I answer with an basic, elementary answer. as an occasion, questions like "Why do conservatives hate black human beings". the guy needs a reaction interior the affirmative that solutions the question, in doing so it confirms their premise. no longer all conservatives do. So i could purely respond "they do no longer".
