RE:
What crackers or bread are best when serving hot crab dip?
I went to the grocery store and really didn't see anything I thought would be great. I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I once went to a restaurant where they had triangular shaped, thin cracker-like bread. Not sure where to get it. Any suggestions would be great.

Homemade garlic toast strips or triangles would go perfect!
If you don't have time for that, then garlic flavored Triscuits or mini bagle chips from the deli.
For the homemade garlic toast, just buy a couple of loaves of fresh french bread. In a saucepan, melt 2 sticks real butter & 2 cloves of garlic minces. Heat over low heat til garlic just starts to carmelize, adding a little more butter if needed. Brush french bread with butter mixture, then place under broiler til just turning crispy & browned. Slice into strips or cubes, then serve on a platter with the crab dip in the center. Garnish with paprika & parsley for a pretty dish!!

There's a kind of cracker-bread called "lavosh" that sounds like your restaurant dippers...it's like dried bits of pita, but thin and strong enuf to lift [yummmm] hot crab dip. Cubes or chunks of sourdough French bread would do it too.

club crackers.
or a good crusty round loaf.
i hollow the loaf out and put the dip inside, then cube or tear up in to bites the rest of the bread.
i know with my recipe for crab dip when the dip is gone my boyfriend claims the loaf and eats it
the resturant might have served pita chips
