Actually it does not matter which side you use. The reason there is a dull side and a shiny side is because of the way it is made.
Most people put the shiny side out is because of the way it looks....
One side does not reflect more heat than the other nor does one side absorb more heat than the other. And that's a fact!!!

Well, I mostly use foil on the grill so I put the shiny side in, dull side out. The foil will start to turn a copper color when the veggies inside are done, so it's great. Grilled veggies turn out perfect every time!!

Does not really matter, the shiny side out for looks only. Like a baked potato at a restaurant.

I would use the dull side. They say the shiney side reflects some of the heat away. Which to me makes sense when you think about it.

I don't usually pay attention when using foil, but I guess it would be the shiny side. .

If you have the non-stick kind of foil, the non-stick side should go next to the food.
