You can take Tasha to the vet. It is about $50 to have her drift peacefully off to sleep from the shot or IV they give her. You can stay to comfort her or not. If they need to dispose of her body it will cost you additional; otherwise, they will put her in something (you can take your own blanket or towel to place her in) so you can take her home for burial. Most likely your vet is very knowledgable and wouldn't provided misinformation regarding Tasha's health, but if you don't feel comfortable with the information you have thus far, by all means visit another vet. Most likely they will need to redo the tests to make a determination.

I'm sorry to hear about Tasha. I had to put my 16yr old dog down a month ago. I had to think about his quality of life. Operation after operation is hard on a dog. How old is your dog? Sometimes tumours can attach themselves to organs and surrounding tissues. Sometimes it is inoperable. Only you know when your pet is not the same and seems distressed or in pain. Pets are very brave and can hide illness and pain well. Most vets charge by the weight of your dog and if you want cremation or if you decide to take your dog home to bury. My decision for my dog was a hard one but now I know he is much better off and not suffering anymore. It was painless and very peaceful. My little guy was given a sedation and he fell into a deep sleep. The final injection and last breath was only a few seconds. Very calm and I knew he was in pain no longer. My thoughts are with you. You can always get a second opinion from a different vet. But only you will know when it's time.

Im so sorry to hear about tasha. I had 2 dogs, both had tumors. One had one in her mouth, it was removed twice and grew back. The other dog had one on his hind quarter, it was over 600 dollars to find out it was cancerous and the dog died about 3 months later. I dont think anyone could tell you how long you have with Tasha, but if you are willing to spend the money, its up to you how you proceed. Just make sure she doesnt suffer. Euthanasia is a very peaceful means of putting her down when its time. i was there for both of my dogs when it was time.. good luck to you

Sorry you and your dog are going through this. Removing a tumor does not fix whatever caused the tumor to form, that's why they come back. Vets will tell you to pick 3 three things your dog likes to do and when he can no longer do 2 of them, it would be kinder to let him go.

It's never easy to decide that it is time to euthanize a pet. I think you have to think about the dogs quality of life and how much "doggie joy" she is still getting. If she is sick, not eating or in pain and the prognosis isn't good, then it might be time. Some vets will come to your home to do the procedure so your dog is comfortable. I am sorry about your dog.

Sorry about your dog. sometimes it is better to have them put to sleep, than to have them suffer. If she is still enjoying life your vet can give her pills i think they are cortisone to live out the rest of her days peacefully. it doesn't cost much to have a dog euthanized. It depends on the weight of the dog. My mom had her 14yr old applehead Chi. dog euthanized for about $35. Good luck, and remember your dog is in more pain than you are, Do the right thing.

I had a vet who came to the house to put my dog down. She had a tumor on her leg and couldn't get up on the bed anymore. She just laid down on the couch, the vet gave her a shot, and she went to sleep forever.

I once heard it said, better a week too soon than a minute too late.
I made that mistake once. You don't want to do that. When her quality of life is too poor, do what's right!
I know it's hard, but that's our responsibility. Hard and sad... but it is for the best.
