Queston about demons?

Um i was wondering if you could attract unholy things such as demons by just showing some sort of intrest in that subject?
I used to really like the show "A haunting" And it usually had something to do with a demon in it. But during the night (every night) I would hear a light thump on my door. At first it kinda scared me and i would try to recreate the sound and i just couldnt eventually i just blew it off. And recently i watched a bunch of episodes of a haunting, and a weird thing happened it was night and i was just ready to go to bed and you know how you can spin the dowel around on blinds to make it so you can see out them? Well i made it so they were closed and i turned around walked about five steps took a drink of water turned around again and they were even.

(not enough room before) I told my mom about this stuff and she said that mabey i should stop watching that show because satan can see it as an opening and get in. And my mom said that i can say "In the name of Jesus Christ satan i rebuke you leave" and he has to leave. Well i was freaked out the first few nights. But i said that, and i just like last night i noticed the light thump on my door never came back since i said that. Do you think that there was something of an unholy nature in my house because i showed an intrest in that sort of thing? Or do you think its just my imagination (i do let it run wild sometimes) In my personal opinion though i think there was something. I dont know it this is a significant detail or but i do have a cross on my door. And some religous things about my room. And im still sort of scared, but i dont want saitan to have that power over me. Is there a way i can vanquish this fear or at least make it maintainable?

Oh yes and about the show that I mentioned, its based on real life accounts of demons and restless-spirits

jesus_awaytolife i think i know the episode you are talking about. The one with "man". Well thats the episode that made my mom stop watching it. Because after that episode she said that in the night it felt like someone sat on her bed. And she in said "In the name of Jesus Christ satan i rebuke you" And the feeling of some one on her bed vanished.

yes, there are demon spirits.
they are fallen angels like satan ... 1/3 of them followed lucifer when he fell from heaven.
it is definitely scriptural.
those who don't believe it's true don't know or don't believe the Word of God.
as christians, we are to stay away from evil.... that includes demonic tv shows, movies, ouiji boards, going to mediums, etc.
your mom is right. she sounds like a smart lady. be thankful you have such a wonderful mom.

always call on His name when you are afraid.
if you are still fearful, pray to God that HE will send His holy angels to protect you & your house.
ask Him to place angels at your windows & doors.

Satan comes in through your imagination that is where he works. Your mind is like an incubator. Whatever you put in it will grow. You need to guard what gets into your imagination.

Your own imagination can be a wonderful tool. To let another persons imaginations take over yours is another thing. That is what is happening when you go beyond watching film and video and get lost in the process. It goes direct to your imagination more so than reading or watching a live play.

What you think about should always be subject to your will.

It is true that there is such things as demons, sometimes people see them sometimes they do not. However, in your case I think because of watching A Haunting it may have developed fear in your heart and now you may be real sensitive to watching for them now. Trust me I used to watch lots of haunting movies before I went to bible college and I was real scared of ghosts....however I got delievered from the spirit of fear and I am not so scared anymore, and I do not watch any horror movies anymore because when we watch those kind of movies it places fear back in your heart. However, now I always pray for the protection of Jesus on me and my family everywhere we go.
If you think that it is more then just fear I would suggest you invite a Christian pastor to your home to plead the blood of Jesus over your house for protection. You can also pray that the demons will be cast out in Jesus name, if you are a believer.

Demons... those would be the supposedly fallen angels that followed Satan.

There are so many problems with that -- starting with the fact that the OT is the Torahs and the haf-torahs from the Jewish faith -- and Judaism doesn't believe Satan fell anywhere -- they believe that he is just an angel doing his job. You think maybe they know their own religion better than we do?

I could go on and on -- but why? Instead I will suggest that you spend time researching and thinking.

There are no demons, its a myth. Demons were a method of explaining schizophrenia, psychosis and other treatable illnesses that people in period did not understand.

You have nothing to worry about. Fiction is just that, fiction -- and it won't do anything to you.

No. A demon creates a relationship with somebody, akin to what christians might call a parent angel. they do no longer mess with human beings, that's purely what the Christian church says to scare human beings. that's in user-friendly terms hassle-free for a human physique to be taken over in the event that they do no longer seem to be linked with their spirituality. A demon might in no way prefer to be a human using fact they're god-like and that they combat to help human beings to attain that time of spirituality. Demons are no longer undesirable, returned, that's purely what the Christian faith says to scare human beings.

My mum used to say that thing about the opening. How did people learn about that type of thing without talking about it? Personally, I think it's a bunch of medieval nonsense. Evil and good are in the eye of the beholder, sorta like beauty.

OMG!! I used to watch "A Haunting" quite a bit. It frieked me out a little, but I was addicted... so I kept watching it. I later told my mom about an episode with a possessed kid in it, and she told me never to watch the show again. She told me I could be "targeted" for having my mind filled with this stuff.

Never watched it again. The stuff you described kinda happened to me... I mean weird stuff. Your mind plays games with you when you're scared. You seem to notice EVERYTHING that moves or makes a noise.

And if you have the Holy Spirit... no demon can touch you, you are protected. Love God and give your life to him, and he will protect you - this is the fact that helped me put my fear behind me.

Wow, it's kinda wierd how similar our stories are. (For me, it happened about a month ago)

Yep! Learn about the Newtonian laws of motion, sweetie! If a body lacks physical substance, it lacks the ability to produce inertia, friction, pressure, etc. and therfore it can't do anything to hurt you--it might be able to pass through walls, but it'll pass right through you, too! Sorry Satan, you're just a figment of an over-active imagination. Poof!

Yes, you can open yourselves up to stuff like that. Like everyone is into the show Harry Potter and that is full of spells and stuff, and all of those horror shows with demons, and exorcisms all of that is you opening up your life for demonic activity and satanic attacks. There are real demons who can possess people if they open themselves up to it. Sickness comes when someone opens them self up to it.
You open yourself up by what you watch
what you hear- crazy music, whatever
and what you say- your words have power in your life.
If all of this scares you I would pray for protection from God, and get connected with a good church- one that believes in demons, and the power of the blood of Jesus, and the baptism of the Holy spirit.

There is a whole spiritual world that we can't see and the fact that you can hear and see things of a demonic nature is something that could be a really cool gift but you have to use it right. Get with God- a relationship with Christ is just the protection that you need.

It depend on what was the purpose of the person who made the show. There are some movies and shows that expose you to demons. If you see a demonic film then surely demons have entered your room or house because you gave them access to enter by watching it. The best way to get rid of them and your fears at night is to pray to God and tell him to send angels to protect and surround your house.

you can attract demons if you are watching stuff like that and you are prayed up and you really shouldn't watch that because it opens the door to demonic forces especially if you aren't prayed up....Shows like that have history with demonic spirits and they probably conjured up evil spirits while making that show so you might want to be careful and get some spiritual advice from your pastor or an elder or someone wise in your life or church....God bless you.....demons are no joke!!....especially when you're not prayed up!
