actually it does sound a little like depression or isolation... I've been through a loss before and things that I loved doing didn't seem important, and even if, I had no energy of doing them. I think it wouldn't be such a bad idea to maybe discuss your feelings with close family members and get support from friends etc. I dunno if you already have, but it helps a lot. If you want to see how long it lasts you may want to wait another week and see how you're doing. Dont wait too long, I hope you feel better.

When you got to the point where you said you want to sleep alot and take naps during the day, yes that is a big sign of depression. See a psychiatrist who can prescribe some meds for depression. There are a lot of them. In the mean time here is a good site to get info. www.panicsurvivor.com. Good luck.

Hi.
First thing I would say is that you have been very lucky to have a father you love so much. It is hard to find out about cancer. But it will be harder on him if he sees you in your current mood.
Life has never been fair, so we have to deal with life as it comes. One day at a time. Why worry about that day which has yet not come and ruin today? If you add to your father's happiness, that is how you will remember him always..
Those signs you are showing are ups and downs of emotions. It happens in our lives. You are completely capable of overcoming them. But that is not what the doctors will say as "The Depression". Please don't worry.
If you feel that you are not able to cope with the pressure, talk to your near and dear friend whom you trust completely.
If you think it doesn't help, talk to a doctor.
May God bless you.

Listen, even though some of these things could be symptoms of depression? You need to snap out of it... and stop moping... BE there for you daddy, MAKE him feel better by YOU feeling better.... you can be the normal sad about all of this, but dont do this... what youre doing now, unintentionally maybe, is drawing the attention to you and thats misplaced right now. If you would do everything you can for your daddy, make him happy, spend time with him and think about him RIGHT NOW... then you WILL feel better... whether he is here another 5 months, or 5 yrs.... Get UP! Do something... YOU being depressed will ONLY effect your daddy in a negative way and will not help his sickness!!! God Bless You and Your Family!

Dont stress depression, stay close to your father, say what must be said, don't be here with him would be the thing you could do for now, as for your question, just do whats right for now with your dad and when you got questions ask us once more, but now don't worry about depression

Hmm. I would just say you are losing a little interest in some of your hobbies at the moment. I wouldnt say its a sign of depression. Depression is more where you are upset and down, and have very serious thoughts and feelings (often negative) whilst you are depressed.
