In the bible it says that Jesus cured people (leaper, etc) by placing his hands on them. Surely if he was God, he would merely have to 'think' and the person would be cured, why put our his hands to do this?

Was it do show people he could do it?
Or was it made up by those who wrote the book wanted something a bit more interesting?

There was an instance where someone approached Jesus asking for healing for someone back at their home. They were like "...my house is not good enough to have you come, just say the word and they will be healed", and right then they were...

...there were instances where people would seek to get in Jesus' shadow to get the healing...

...so the bible shows many ways that Jesus was able to heal...

...it also could be said that Jesus choose those instances to heal by touch to show us now an example of how we can heal others

There are Many Ways GOD can Heal Human Beings.

There is no Distance in the Kingdom of GOD for Spoken Commands.

Jesus Healed a Centurians Child just by "Speaking Healing into that Child". That Child was a Long Ways from Jesus too.

Healing is very Complicated and can be Very Hard to UnderStand why some get Healed and Some Don't.

Did you know that you can RECIEVE your Healing and then Turn Right Around and LOSE IT?

Did you know that some Healings are just a Manipulation of TIME? GOD just speeds up the Time in a Local Area of the Damage and the Body just Naturally Heals It's Self but Quite a Bit Faster!

To Answer your Question, Jesus Laid Hands (like we can) to Transferr what was Needed "Spiritually" (The Substance of Faith is one of them) to Help that Person RECIEVE their Healing.
The Power and Faith dosen't go from Jesus's Fleshly Hand to the other persons flesh, the Power and Faith Transferrs from Jesus's Spirit to the other persons Spirit, then works its Way to the Fleshly Body!
If it makes it all the Way, the person Recieves his,her Healing.

Yes my friend, He cured many people and still cures today. As for the touch, I think is more like a sign of love and acceptance regarding the ill person.

You know, nobody touch a person with leaper but the one irresistible in love with that person and that is God. Can you imagine how bad is not to be touched by anyone in a year? Most likely that was the case with many of those you talk about.

Guess what, He wants to touch you too. Please allow Him to.

The Bible speaks of the laying on of hands to heal the sick in Jesus' name. It is a point of contact and very comforting to feel the touch of another, especially, imagine, if it were, Jesus. Jesus is God, He can do ANYTHING! The Bible says that all it's scripture is God inspired. It is breathed by God. It is the Living Word of God. If you doubt this, it's because you have never read or studied the Word. The Bible says to study to show ourselves approved. God bless you and keep you as you begin your search for the truth!

Jesus did not have to touch people to heal them. In fact, there was the case where a women that suffered from a bleeding affliction touched His robe as He passed by. He immediately knew that someone had touched Him and was healed. (Matthew 9:20-22) In another case, a centurion that was dying was healed by Jesus as He was on the way to his house (Luke 7:1-10).

I think that it is more significant that Jesus was willing to touch some of these people. In His time, it was unthinkable to touch someone with leprosy. Lepers were segregated in society and were "unclean" people. Jesus choosing to touch them was far more an act of compassion than healing. In doing so, He not only broke with Jewish tradition (and law), but associated with their condition on a human level. He had the power to heal (for He was God) and also associated with the lowest of the low here on earth. Pretty cool, if you ask me.

there were a variety of reasons
and interestingly even Jesus enemies believed Jesus did miracles

people who were at a distance, Jesus healed by going to their homes if they were Jewish... Jesus healed them by a distance if they were gentiles

the blind he healed by touching, putting mud in their eyes and telling them to wash... involving them

the lepers who were untouchable Jesus healed by touching

the deaf Jesus healed first by using a type of sign language gesturing

but in the end a miracle is a sign to validate Jesus teaching and if no one else knew of it, it would not accomplish that so silently thinking something with no one knowing would not do

Why didn't he just say, " No more leapersy " ? He's supposed to be " almighty ". able to do anything. Why did he have that and many other miseries in the first place, if he could have eliminated them all ? Some "god " .

A woman just touched his garment and was healed too. He didn't have to touch them He even healed from a distance. actually, touching the person would show the people around him a more concrete event that just saying it although he did this too He would just tell them to rise and they would walk.
