No, actually this works great for me...you don't get the hems of the curtains/drapes caught in your vacuum sweeper! I think if you think it looks good, just do it.

That all depends on what the individual likes, as well as how low the windows are. Personally I don't mind curtains that go to the floor. In some aspects it is more fitting to go to the floor than to stop just below the window if the bottom of the window is only 14 inches above the floor.

Not at all! I ordered drapes to actually hang across my room to separate the dressing srea from my desk and bed and it's about 3 inches above the ground. It's also kinda cool because there is a mirror on the wall in the dressing area. so you can kind of have a fashion show or runway with your friends

If you don't want them to touch the floor, make sure that you don't take them any higher than the top of the baseboard. You shouldn't be able to see the painted wall between the curtain and the baseboard.

My draperies have to either touch the floor or puddle on the floor. I can't stand too short drapes. I have always paid extra to make sure they hit where they should. It always reminds me of men who buy their pants too short. It looks silly.

No, not stupid. It looks better. Gives the impression that the wall is taller.
