How does "God" (I use this term loosly, because the God I believe in isn't anything like the Christian God) explain Himself? It's ok for a person to spend 60 years of his life raping children, killing, abusing, mutilating people and on his deathbed repents and is let into heaven? And a Buddhist who spends her whole life giving to the community, saving lives, and pours out nothing but respect goes to hell just because she didn't accept Jesus into her heart? That is something else. And according to the OT God commanded his followers to war with other nations to take their land (didn't Jesus say turn the other cheek?) and pretty much taught "do what I say, not as I do...." I just don't know how anyone can accept this doctrine as Gods! Isn't it possible that man added what he wanted just to have control over the masses? Hmmmm?

And don't think I am disrespecting you. If you have faith and live a good life then I am happy for you.. but what I stated just doesn't describe a loving God.

Wow.. surprised by the responses! Didn't God say to always have an answer for every question? Some of you don't have an answer at all! To those of you who actually DID answer the question thanks! I may not agree with everything you said but I appreciate your responses all the same! *Hugs*

I don't take any direspect at all, you bring up a very valid comment. I'm a Christian and I'm a firm believer that we should do to others as we want other to do to us! Know what I mean? But I see you point exactly. For me and for what I think....its like you hear these people who say something is "the will of God." Its like they use the term to shield them from any wrong that they do because they use God's name. Its been like that from the middle ages on through today. They think that they can go through life do all the wrong that they do and on their deathbed say" Hey! Im sorry cut me a break." Its not that easy.....its just not. And as for the example of the Buddist, he's led a virtueos life....God knows him.

The concept is man (that is man kind, both men and women) is fallen (Garden of Eden, eating from the forbidden fruit). Because of this, man is separated from God and in his sin cannot have a relationship with God (which was the purpose of God creating man in the first place). If a man who has done terrible things his whole life truly feels regret for what he has done and desires a relationship with God (not just that he fears death, God is omnipotent and knows the difference), he will be forgiven. A man who has done wonderful things all his life but who does not do them out of a desire to serve God, has his heart in the wrong place. God focuses less on actions and more on what the motivation is. Doing good things isn't enough, the motivation has to be to serve God and to have a relationship with Him.

As to waring with people in the OT, and it's discrepancies with Jesus Christ and the New Testament. The OT is under the old covenant between God and the Jews (the Law from the days of Moses). Jesus is the new covenant between God and all people. Jesus was a fulfillment of all the prophesies in the Law and abolished the old ways and set up the new covenant. Under the OT, wars were waged. After Jesus came (and said turn the other cheek and taught love and compassion) that was no longer God's way of doing things.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

What Jesus (GOD Almighty) did on the Cross made it Possible for ANYBODY to get Saved.

Yes, Jesus Loves Us.

The Problem comes in when You have to Give Jesus Permission to Save you (Recreate your Spirit).

A Human Being can get so Evil and Wicked that he,she will NEVER Accept Jesus as their Saviour.
Alot of People ARE NOT going to get Saved. Period!

We have FreeWills.
You have to say "Yes" to Jesus.

This is why GOD Flooded the Earth back in Noah's Time.
EverBody Else (cept Noah and his Family) was so Evil and Wicked that they would Never Use their FreeWill to turn back to GOD (Yes, sin can do that to your Mind).
GOD had to put them out of their Misery.
Mercy Killing.
Like when an Animal gets so messed up you cannot help them anymore, so you put them out of their Misery.

The Old Testament was a Contract to get Saved UNTILL Jesus Died on the Cross Bringing in the New Testament and doing away with the Old Testament.
Jesus Changed Alot of Things when HE Ratified the New Testament.
That is where Turn the Other Cheek came from.

Now were Talking about getting Slapped here, not somebody attacking you and trying to Kill you---you have the RIGHT to DEFEND YourSelf up to killing the Attacker if he,she will not Stop Attacking you and is trying to kill you.
Take'm Out!!!
Jesus will help you Too!

You use extreme examples.

God will have mercy upon anyone who cries out for mercy.

God knows the heart...

The OT laws were tough because many ancient societies were violent and immoral.

However, God sent His Son to change all that.

You say your god is much more loving, but if you conjure up a god of your own ivention, your own imagining.... how can that be god?

No one is cast into hell... hell simply means, eternally apart from God... men/women choose to go their by rejecting the knowledge of Him and what He did.

God is a loving God, He will not cast someone away, if they have never heard of Him... or if they are mentally damaged and do not know the difference between right and wrong... or if they are young children and don't know right from wrong...

God is all holy and all loving... God is the embodyment of love itself.

You go rotten apple picking in the Bible, and you already have a negative idea of God, so why would you think He is good?

God is loving, why would I follow Him if He wasn't?

Why would He care to forgive or save me if He wasn't?

Why would He love the rotten sinner that I am?

Love, it's all because of love.... love that you know nothing about.... but that God is trying to show you.

He gave up His son for your very sins...

He loved you before you existed.

Yes, the Old Testament was brutal, but just read The Code of Hammurabi, or other ancient text...

Laws for crimes were punishable by death, war was the norm of that day.

But the old has passed away, and the new has come.

God offers forgiveness and salvation, and a chance to know Him.

God loves all.

God bless you and yours,

The reason you have trouble believing this is because you think that you are a good person. The bible stated "none are good, not one". Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, looked at a man with lust. If you have done any of these things you have broken God laws. Because God is a just judge all sin (breaking God laws) must be punished. The punishment for sin is death (Hell) according to the bible. You may say to yourself that everyone has sinned or telling a lie is not that bad why send me to Hell for that. Consider this scenario.
Someone kill a bug and they get no punishment
Someone kills a homeless person and they get 50 years in prison.
Someone kills the president and they get the death penalty.
What changed in this scenario. In each case the same crime was committed but the punishment was different. The answer is the punishment depends on who the crime was committed against. In our case the one we have committed the crime against is God who has a much higher standard that us. The fact is even the sins that Christians have committed can not go unpunished and they should to go to Hell except for one thing. Christ took their punishment for them. You too can go to heaven and avoid punishment. But you first need to realise your sinful nature and confess that to God, turn from your sins and turn to God putting your trust and faith in Jesus Christ who took your punishment for you so that you may be saved and avoid your day in court.

It seems that you have limited knowledge of the bible and of God's purposes. First of all the bible speaks of only 144,000 people going to heaven. These would be people like the apostles that devoted much of their life to doing God's will, so the pervert you mention would not be in that group. As far as the Buddhist, if that person has died, the bible speaks of a resurrection, the person by dying, has paid for all of its sins, including Adamic sin and will get a second chance during the 1000 year period when the earth and mankind will be brought to perfection amid paradise conditions.

God looks at someone's heart. The person who spent his life in violent sin isn't likely to sincerely "find God" and repent of his sins in the last minute of his life. Atheists on R&S always say that they wouldn't change their minds on their deathbeds and suddenly convert, and they're living good, law-abiding lives. So I wouldn't think someone who is evil like in your scenario would have a change of heart right before he dies. And if he's only doing it "just in case", then that wouldn't be worth anything either. One has to truly believe. But only God knows for sure and is the only One qualified to judge.

God is merciful. someones salvation is none of our business. it's between God and that individual. so if that person spent all of his/her killing people and what not and actually repented with their heart..God does forgive.

Jesus died for us and he rose on the 3rd day. budda died and never came back.

in the OT God commanded war because it's wasn't their land to begin with.

Jesus did say turn the other cheek...well why don't you do that about God? why don't you look at all of the great things He has done for you? you have to understand...man causes sin and for that sin man has to deal with the consequences.

the word of God is inspired by God and God used people to tell the world of Him.

God is loving..it's man sin that thinks that God is a vengeful God when in fact we are causing this.

The God of the book of Genesis, Job, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy at 34:7; A man named Moses had been giving the family of Abraham [ numbered at 603,550 people ], as heirs to the Promised Land, the law of the land and the law of God for 40 years from Egypt world Empire #1 to the Promised Land given to Abraham in a covenant, 430 years ago, as Abraham and Lot were surrounded by land pirates 427 years after the flood.

God was the one handling the law breakers that created an earth of violence, before the flood, after at 450 years in Sodom and Gomorrah there was not even 10 for a land law or a law of God. God handled the situation there.

So 857 to 897 years after the flood and God has a people in the family of Abraham that spread law and order [LAW AND ORDER ], Acts 13:17-23; Will they have to wipe out seven nations of land pirates to establish law and order
in what has been the land pirates land.
Will they have to resort to nearly wiping out their own relatives to establish law and order [ namely the tribe of Benjamin ]?
Will king David at 1333 to 1373 years after the flood 1Ki.2:10,11; finally bring a measure of law and order to the Promised Land, so that 1Ki.6:1; 480 years after the death of Moses there is enough peace in the Promised Land for Solomon in his 4th year as king to began a temple to the name of God, and the next 36 years reign 1Ki.11:42; he has a measure of peace 3069 years after Adam, 1413 years after the flood and 997 years before Christ Jesus will be born in Rome world Empire #6.

How do those bringing law and order to populations of persons act?

What responsibility do law and order enforcement persons have and how much danger do they face, and how different is it now than it was in the bible days?

Should the criminal or the law abider be the one to loose his life or freedom?

The covenant of the New Testament is crystal clear. It clearly defines the requirements for salvation of the eternal soul thru the Son of God, Jesus.

Twist words and play scenario games all you want. Doesn't change the reality of the covenant.
