You can hold them right away, but mostly let them nurse and be careful with them. They're fragile baby dears!!!

Why do they have to be weeks old? We just had a litter 6 weeks ago and held all of them daily from day 1 kids included. We just always asked mom for permission before handling them (letting her smell the person wanting to hold them) they are very sociable pets now no fear of humans and mom has no problems letting potential buyers come and hold her pups. I would suggest not letting strangers (to mom)come and hold them before two weeks old the more comfortable she is with it the easier it will be.

You can hold the puppies a few days after birth! That way they can get used to human handling and such.

You can hold the puppies as soon as they are born. Just have to be careful.

You need to start handling them immediately. This will condition the puppies to accept humans touching them. Otherwise they will have to be tamed in order to handle them.
