To me as a high school student, I think they could both have happen. God could have created us and then we could have changed over time. Is it just because man doesn't want to believe they could have primates as ancestors?

"Creationism" is not the same thing as "belief in God".

Creationism specifically claims that the world and all organisms were created as described by a LITERAL interpretation of the Bible's book of Genesis. Creationism is more specifically a theocratic political campaign aimed at trying to misrepresent science and teach a specific religious belief in science classrooms.

It is a gross misconception that one has to be an atheist in order to accept evolution. Evolution doesn't demand "belief" just as gravity, photosynthesis, and other models in science. Science works with models based on objective evidence, not personal spiritual revelations (which is what "belief" is about).

So just say you are among the many people who both believes in God and also accepts evolution. There's no need to say "I believe in both creationism and evolution", especially when it's not accurate.

There is a proof and evidences that man doesn't have primates as ancestor. The first man, Adam, was called a "son of God." (Luke 3:38) No animal has ever enjoyed that distinction. Yet, the Bible shows that humans have a number of things in common with animals. For example, both humans and animals are souls. When God formed Adam, "the man came to be a living soul," says Genesis 2:7. First Corinthians 15:45 concurs: "The first man Adam became a living soul." Humans are souls, so the soul is not some shadowy entity that survives the death of the body.

Concerning animals, Genesis 1:24 says: "Let the earth put forth living souls according to their kinds, domestic animal and moving animal and wild beast of the earth according to its kind." So while dignifying humans by revealing that we were created in God's image, the Bible also reminds us of our humble status as earthly souls, along with the animals. Yet, there is something else man and beast have in common.

The Bible explains: "There is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and they have the same eventuality. As the one dies, so the other dies . . . There is no superiority of the man over the beast . . . All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust." Yes, in death man and animals are also alike. Both return "to the ground," "to dust," from which they came.—Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20; Genesis 3:19.

Where We Differ From Animals
Would you be happy to go through life with no purpose other than to eat, sleep, and reproduce? The thought repels even dedicated evolutionists. "Modern man, this enlightened skeptic and agnostic," writes evolutionist T. Dobzhansky, "cannot refrain from at least secretly wondering about the old questions: Does my life have some meaning and purpose over and above keeping myself alive and continuing the chain of living? Does the universe in which I live have some meaning?"

Indeed, denying the existence of a Creator does not still man's quest for a meaning to life. Quoting historian Arnold Toynbee, Richard Leakey writes: "This spiritual endowment of [man] condemns him to a lifelong struggle to reconcile himself with the universe into which he has been born."

Many people do believe in creation and evolution. They believe, of course, that God used evolution to bring about life as we know it. Some feel that this is a perfectly acceptable explanation. There are inherent difficulties in this, however; not the least of which is . . .

It patently conflicts with God’s word the Bible. The Genesis account specifically says that God created each according to their kind. If what we believe is actually true, the belief will not conflict with proved science. By the same token, God knows more about what he did than I ever could. That being so, it would be foolish of me to reject what his word says concerning his creation since he knows what he did, yes? Pointedly, at Genesis 1:21, he tells us what he did. Thus we read that God created “according to their kinds.” In Genesis 2:7, we are taught that God formed man, not from earlier animals, but from the dust. Then in verses 21 and 22 we are taught that Eve was formed, not from an animal, but from one of Adam’s ribs as base material.

Moreover, we learn that Jesus himself believed and accepted the creation account found in Genesis, even citing to it. Thus we read at Matthew 19:4 the words of Christ: “In reply he said: “Did you not read that he who created them from [the] beginning made them male and female . . . “

Furthermore, rejection of the creation account puts one in a very precarious position. How so? Well, if the Biblical account is allegorical in nature, what is the natural conclusion? Romans 5:19 states: “Just as through the disobedience of the one man [Adam] many were constituted sinners, likewise also through the obedience of the one person [Jesus Christ] many will be constituted righteous.” Similarly, 1 Corinthians 15:22 says: “Just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.”

However, if there was no real man named Adam, then no such person sinned. If no such person sinned and passed it to us, then there was no need for Christ to give his life as a ransom. If Christ didn’t give his life as a ransom for us, we have no prospect for life beyond what we entertain now. What is left? Absolutely nothing. It would be as the apostle Paul said: we are, of all men, most to be pitied. 1 Corinthians 15:19.

Therefore, those who profess belief in God have a decision to make: either accept evolution and reject God’s word or accept God’s word and reject evolution. This decision should definitely be an informed one and not based on emotion. But make no mistake: the two teachings simply cannot be reconciled.

Because there is not a single scientist that can prove evolution, it is simply a theory put forward by Darwin to make it easier to explain his other theories (Natural Selection, genetic variability etc etc) But if you can Prove Evolution to me then hey... Also there are many Problems with evolution, like for example why did some apes or monkeys or whatever we're supposed to have come from stay and not undergo evolution in the way we supposadly have? and, is ''intellegence'' really an adaptive behaviour ?? it's not a physical trait, so I don't know how that could work. I believe in a form of evolution but within one's own species, for example within humans are of different colours, depending on their region of origin, monkeys may have evolved into more intellegent creatures, but a dog can't become a cow, and a monkey cannot become a human.

You can't. If you believe what you stated then the god you believe in is false and not the God in the bible. God said he created the heavens, the earth, animals and then man and he did it in six days. Are you calling him a liar? Is your god not big enough to do that?

believers want a god that routinely meddles in the universe, not a god that sets up the universe like a gigantic set of dominoes, gives the first domino a push, and then just watches. and nonbelievers like me would point out that while there is no clear physical evidence that gods exist or even any indication of how they could exist, creationism is an empty idea, an answer in search of a meaningful question. of course that doesn't prevent many people from claiming to believe in both.
