You can't argue with Christians so don't bother. Everything they believe is based on BLIND FAITH not FACT. They don't use their brains, just believe what they're told to.
Christians like to believe The Bible is the word of God, however, The Bible has been translated so many times that its like playing "telephone", what was said first is far different from what the story ends up.
The Bible was written as stories to maintain the masses by patriarchial group to maintain their status quo.
I love Jesus, just not His fan club.

That is your opinion and you are welcome to it.
But you had better study it out. You cant take one scripture and make a doctrine.
Revelation 19:13 "..and His name is called The Word of God."
Yes, this is a name for Christ.
Lets see what Jesus said about the "word",
Matthew 13:19-23
When anyone HEARS the WORD of the kingdom, and understands it not, then comes the wicked one, and catches away that which was sown into his heart. This is he which received seed by the way.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that HEARS the WORD, and immediately receives it.
Yet has he no root in himself, but endures for a while: for when tribulation of persecution arises because of the word, by and by he is offended.
He also that received seed among the thorns is he that HEARS the WORD; and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of his riches, choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
But he that receives seed into the good ground is he that HEARS the WORD, and understands it; which also bears fruit, and brings forth, some a hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty.
So it seems that hearing has something to do with the word.
Romans 10:14
How then shall they call on him in who they have not believed?
and how shall they believe in him of who they have not HEARD? and how shall they HEAR with out a preacher?
Hmmmmmmmmm...............
Hebrews 4:12 For the WORD of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of the soul and spirit, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart.
2 Timothy 3:16 ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
There is a whole lot more but I think that the bible proves that the "Word of God" is more than just another name for Jesus.
The Word of God is what God had written and what God has spoken.
I cant wait for lesson 6, maybe you will talk about something you actually know about.

Hahahaha, conquer away!
This is a Deep UnderStanding of what "The Word of GOD" is.
The Word of GOD is Jesus.
Now, the Bible is a "Translation" of the Original Documents which GOD Inspired.
But, you WILL Find Jesus in the Bible.
The Holy Spirit UpHolds the Word of GOD.
(are you sure you didn't get Born-Again when you were Little and forgot about it?)
Oh Well, Hats off to Ya!!!

I can't even understand what you are trying to say. Maybe you can reword your argument to make more sense.
The Bible does say that the word became flesh, Jesus represents the word...
and, Jesus also claimed to be one with God.
Jesus, according to Christian beliefs, is God.
There are many people who read the Bible, some know it better than Christians...
but, you say you never really read it- so how can you understand it?
It is your opinion that the Bible is not the word of God.
I fully understand that many men wrote and translated the Bible, and that these men were of God.
the "word," is a another word for "The Bible"
You don't represent your people in a good light.
Athiesm conquering Christianity?
Don't you realize what you are doing? ...Spreading hate and intollerance for a people who you don't even care to understand.
I respect you and your beliefs, so why trash mine?
God bless you and yours,

You cannot tell me how many grains of sand there are in all the sea shores of the world, or how much gold is in all the earth. To know that you would have to be God. You are not God. Your knowledge is limited. You don't know. The best you can get out of your limited knowledge is that you don't know whether there is a God or not, because that is the truth. What you do know is that you don't want there to be a God, and that is different. The Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ was prophesied by prophets of old, that God would justify sinners who believe in Jesus Christ. The Father loves the Son. He that believes on the Son has everlasting life; and he that believes not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. The fool has said in his heart there is no God. Don't be a fool, please.

Im not Christian or Athiest, so I cant truly claim any authority on the subject.
Its a known fact that the Bible of course wasn't written by God- proved by the very fact that it's called the King James version of the Bible, and wasn't written till after Jesus died. However, that doesn't mean that it wasn't inspired by the word of God. My take, however unofficial, is that though God himself didn't write it, the writers of the Bible were writing what they saw to be eternal truths, and therefore the word of God- they were what I call in my language Rishis. (Seers of truth). Truth has always existed; no one can change the truth. If something is true, it can never be proven false. It is eternal. If a truth were to be proven wrong, then it obviously wasn't true in the first place. Since truth has always been there, forever, man doesn't invent ideas; he finds them/discovers them. The discoverers of these truths are called Rishis (to me, others have different names), and I think that thats what the writers of the Bible were. They found what they believed to be eternal truths, and recorded them. Sure, there may be historical mistakes, but those pale in comparison to some of the great spiritual truths found in it. Furthermore, the first step to even try to understand any religion or belief system is to have faith. EVen if its blind faith, slowly you will start to understand the system more and more, and reason will appear. Therefore, I think you have to at least read the Bible and have faith in it, before you renounce it as useless and untrue. Only with faith can come understanding, though if you have tried your hardest to truly understand something and it still appears immoral or stupid, you have every right to renounce it completely.

First, you have to believe in God to even try to understand this. I am not sure how to say this to an unbeliever.
In the beginning was the WORD.
And the WORD was GOD.
And the WORD became flesh (Jesus)
And dwelt among men.
If you don't believe this then you cannot understand that Jesus IS GOD and GOD is the WORD so JESUS is the WORD. Confusing isn't it? Well it is sometimes to me so I just believe it by faith but that is a whole other subject.

Um, it looks like Lesson 5 has failed miserably.
You claim to be an atheist who never really reads the bible, but you are trying to present yourself as some self-proclaimed expert on what the Holy Bible is and isn't. Very curious.
You claim to be an atheist, but you state that "the word is god". Very curious.
If you never really read the bible, then how in the world do you expect ANYONE to believe that you "understand it better"? Very curious.
Also, what exactly is a "bold face lie"?
Lesson 6 should be titled: "How to overcome my own confustion before I try to convince other people I know what I'm talking about."

Yeah, we know that Jesus is meant in 1. John.
Doesn't mean that the Bible isn't God's word, too. Jesus was the living word, proof to all. The Bible is the written part. There's no contradiction here.
MMaaannnn.... you don't understand as much as you think you do.
no offense, but save your breath on your next lesson if its gonna be like this one. Nobody benefitted from this 'lesson'.

The bible is the word of God. Men wrote the bible but they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. The bible itself states that God was the inspiration of the scriptures in two different places. Pick whatever one you want to study.
2 Timothy 3: 16
"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness."
2 Peter 1: 21
"For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit."
Don't get me wrong I do respect your opinion and I am just stating mine.
