Mayan Calender?

A girl in my science class said that we would all die and that the world will end in 2012.....i asked her why and how.....I truely didn't believe all of that stuff as a christian, so i asked her where she heard about that and she said from the mayan calender......could anyone please explain to me this???I'm super confused thank you for your help!!!

I'm really scared.....That would be before I even graduate!!! If the world were even to end how would that even be possible....would the sun melt or something????

Holy crap. None of what people have said is true. On the Mayan calendar it is "The end of the Age of Man." Which indicates nothing. That can be interpreted in any way just like the "bible prophecies" can be. The Mayan calendar has not predicted ANYTHING. For that matter, neither has the bible.
