Depends on what calendar you use. The links should give you an idea of your options.
Most people use the Gregorian calendar. The Julian calendar was switched over to the Gregorian starting in 1582.
Both calendars have 30 days in September.
Also the Ethiopian and the Coptic calendars (13 months, 12 with 30 days each, and an intercalary month at the end of the year with five or six days) have 30 days in September.
The muslim calendar is based on the lunar year, which normally has 354 days. Islamic months begin at sunset of the first day, the day when the lunar crescent is visually sighted.

CocoasMoM is correct in her explanation except the end of your hand, that ends on your index (pointer or what ever you call it, the one before your thumb) finger. { I have always went the other direction. From index finger knuckle to the pinkey knuckle. But which ever way you go, the knuckles are always 31 day and in between the knuckles is 30, with the exception of February which is 28, except on leap year then it is 29.}

30. Do this little trick to check out many days are in a month........put your hand in a fist. On your knuckles start at your pinky bone. The first upper bone is January. Next in between your pinky and your ring finger (the space between your knuckles) that is February. Next knuckle bone is March. Next area between your knuckles is April and so on. When you get to the end of your hand you start over back at the first knuckle. All months that are on the top part of your knuckle are days with 31. All months that are in the area between your knuckles are 30 days or less (February). Get it?

We in America have these things called. . .are you ready for this. . .calenders.
Calenders, are labled by numbers and days. The days on a calander go from left to right, Sunday to Saturday with days like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and believe it or not Friday.
Calanders also have these special days called Holidays.
Seriously, you should go to your local Target, or even dollar store and purchase one.
