46 yr old male diagnosed w/strep and given amoxicillan. Burns when he pees. Was doing this before going to dr. so it's not a reaction to the meds.

It isn't the strep throat. Did you mention it to your doctor when you were there? If not, now would be a good time to since you may have a urinary tract infection or a STD.

Could be a bladder infection or penile infection and just because your on an antibiotic to kill strep doesn't mean it will help with your possible bladder or penile infection which may be caused by an entirely different microorganism. I'm assuming your being treated for strep throat? Anyway, you should see your physician for the burning when you urinate.

Strep is an infection in the throat, strepthroat
Sounds like a uraniary tract infection to me, Bladder infections do this.

No strep usually doesnt cause that...

What does cause that is :
Bladder infection
Kidney infection
Kidney Stones
STD's

Either your quack was clumsy, in which case, the burning will not persist, or you also have a gonorrhea infection. I'm betting that you will be fine tomorrow.
